Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is quite popular around the ol’ games.on.net community, and indeed why not? With real-time fist-person combat including proper directional hacking, slashing and parrying, as well as buckets of blood and severed limbs, it’s basically a recipe for a guaranteed good night in.
Now, this weekend, those of you who haven’t played it can try it for free — right now. Hit it up on Steam to download it for free and, if you like it, you can buy it for 50% off at a paltry $12.49.
We’ve slammed up some new Chivalry servers to celebrate, so jump on it and start hacking us to pieces! See you in-game!

This is a brilliant game! I don’t know how far you’ll get for mileage from it… but as far as a brilliant LAN party game, you only need to look for Freddy W’s video to see the fun unfold :)
Well worth the $12, I’ve wasted that much on a bad coffee and muffin before…
what video?

Okay not usually so dense, but I have worked all day…the link just takes me to the Chivalry page on steam? and the click here link does the same…whats my problem?
ursethebear,
It may be under your games list already, just requiring you to right-click it and install.
syncourt,
thanks, but I just needed a reboot for some reason, restarting steam wasn’t enough…
Stop reading these comments and start downloading Chivalry!
No really guys, this is one game everyone should atleast try out.
Just don’t make the mistake to judge it too early. It definitely takes some time to get into it and to get good at it. So be prepared to loose a couple of limbs.
Combat might seem rather simple and staightforward (which is good) but theres really alot room for personal improvement there. Timing, precision, patience, perception and not to forget footwork. It all comes to play in one of those tense fights Chivalry has to offer.
Oh and a word of advice: Learn to use overhead attacks and stabs when you’re around teammates. As much as I like seeing new faces in the game, getting TKed by them is a bit annoying. ^^
Whats the difference in gameplay between this and war of the roses?
Is it basically the same?
From the trailers it looks like Dark Messiah combat though not as polished.
it does need a bit of polish, but trust me, the game is fun! get it!
