Our first Community Game Night is coming up on February 4 – get ready

Team Fortress 2

As we outlined in our roadmap, 2013 will see the kick-off of regular Community Game Nights — and our first one is coming up on Monday, February 4.

To start off this fine new tradition we’ll be running with an old favourite: Team Fortress 2. Special servers will be set aside for the occasion, with the festivities taking off from 8:30 PM EST that night. Pencil it in your diaries! Then, grab a pen, and write over the pencil because you will be there.

We’ll have all-talk turned on and admins and staff members of all kinds jumping in, so put some time aside and watch this space for more details on what server to join. And get TF2 up to date, if you haven’t already! You monster.

Why would they do that? When 1) They have a dedicated teamspeak server already, and 2) TF2 has perfectly fine VOIP built in?

I’ll be there with bells on :) Will this be announced on the GON Group in steam? Like 20mins before or something as a reminder?

I was just asking, because in PUGs we use mumble and was curious what GON was going to use. Lately I fell like your just attacking me based on my comments. :\

Server is all talk and not every one uses Team Speak :S

I shall bring the Sandviches, barring rl interfering.

If you feel that way, maybe you should look at what you’re saying? ;)

I don’t look who posts the comment, I just reply.

@Matty, and not everyone uses mumble, and it’s all-talk for a reason cos lets be honest, there’s very limited strategy to TF2 these days. ;p I’ve always liked all-talk, because there’s a very limited amount of strategy going on in voice chat these days, its fun just to laugh together when you get weird/stupid kills hehe.

This is gonna be just stupid fun, with the admins and forum goers together, not meant to be taken seriously.

I’m not trying to attack anyone, I just don’t see the reason to run either mumble/ts/vent when TF2 has perfect quality VOIP, especially when all-talk is on, it’s gonna be like you’re in a mumble/ts/vent server anyways, as everyones going to be in the same channel?

Just sayin, it’s pretty common in TF2 for all talk fun servers to have their own private team chat.

Goood. Because it has been about 2 years since I’ve played TF2 and I don’t want to feel like the only one ruining my team’s chances :D

.♥. Cupcake .♥.

SO happy GON is back again after a big wait. I wouldn’t miss this for the world :D
