As awesome as this is, the publishers are still there “bigger” cut. We the consumer might be paying less, but they still get the unfairly earned money.
This helps us, in the short term now, but in the long term it’s not helping. This will not make them bring the prices down in the region at all.

Purchase the games from other regions, or don’t purchase them at all.

I fully stand behind what GMG is doing here, thank you, but it’s not going to bring the price down, and they will continue to screw the Australian consumer

GMG probably wouldn’t take a monetary hit here – the publishers wouldn’t be able to designate stock per region based on future purchases, so all GMG are doing is bypassing publisher agreements for RRP.

Actually, they do have region-based stock as mentioned here when Skyrim: Dawnguard was temporarily unavailable.

NBA2K13 down to $36? They had it listed at $30 before, and with the previous specials I was able to get it for ~$16. Even with the nice voucher, such a deal pales in comparison to what was before.

It’s like getting shafted being made better by the promise of a reach-around. No matter what, you’re still getting shafted.

What good timing I was just considering buying the Borderlands 2 Season pass now im really getting into the game and most of the DLC is out. $28 is a lot better value than $50.

Nothing mysterious about it, it's Publishing agreements. Same reason we (aswell as the US folk) can't see UbiSoft titles there (even though we could at one point about a year ago). Probably the same reason the Yanks can't use the 25% pre-order coupon on Bioshock Infinite, yet we can...

As in, publisher says “list at $xx”, so they do. But nothing is stopping them from offering a permanent “discount” on those prices.

It's either they have 2K games products on their website inflated or not at all. Still cheaper than steam at any rate, but if you really wanted to buy Borderlands 2 you'd buy a RU key for $20. GMG>>>>>>>>>Steam

I approve of the Good Guy Greg image usage, and GmG’s decision on this aswell. Though I wonder if a “40%” or “50%” temporary ANZ coupon will be extended to us in the future event of these – or god forbid – any other upcoming price jacked titles going on sale.

It’s a nice gesture, but with the current 20% general use coupon for example these games like borderlands or Xcom are still actually cheaper for the US folk.

A “45%~ish ANZ” voucher while the “20% All Purpose” voucher is running would be about equivilent for instance…. or you know, Djvu’s suggestion of what Cd Projeckt/GoG did with disabling the site Ip Check would actually be preferable.. ;)
