Gas Powered Games’ “Project W” is an action-RPG named Wildman

Wondering what Gas Powered Games have been up to? Well, it’s certainly not Age of Empires Online anymore, and in fact it seems like they’re diverting all their resources to their newly revealed game Wildman.

Teased as ‘Project W’, Wildman is an action-RPG which apparently combines RTS elements such as army building and control, and features you as an early, barbaric human, uh… well, smashing things. A lot of them. As is the fashion these days, it’s a Kickstarter-powered game and they’re asking for $1.1 million — and they’re already over $60,000 into it.

Check out the video below to see what they’re planning and check out some of the talent involved — including legendary game composer Jeremy Soule.

I think you added a 0 at the end of the currently pledged number.
Its not 50%, its more like 5%.

$64,000 from $1,100,000 at present, not $640,000.

Welp I can’t deny that, my apologies. Who needs math, anyway!

Relaxed_Possum

Much less impact however… :)

edit:Woooo!

Wow, they have really set the bar high at 1.1 million….but I have pledged as I do like gas power games. This will go with the 2 other games I have paid pledges on:)

I hope that this comes out a good game but with it being on Kickstarter I would rather put money towards a good game than a good concept. Even though GPG can easily deliver on their promises I dont think they needed to go onto Kickstarter to fund this game. Maybe they want to break free of Publishers like Microsoft and making games such as Age of empires online.

Maybe working on Age of Empires wasn’t as profitable for them as it could of been. I liked Dungeon Siege 3 so hopefully this will be good.

cyrinno,

They didn’t make DS3.

Tim Colwill,

We have ‘mathS’ here in Australia. ‘Math’ is for our less intelligent American brethren…sorry, pet peeve.

Big fan of Gas Powered Games and Chris Taylor, I really hope this works out for them.
