The great thing about DUST 514 is that it takes place in the same universe as EVE Online, and both games are able to affect each other in various interesting ways. The silly thing about DUST 514 is that it is, for some bizarre reason, a PS3 exclusive — which puts us in an interesting position as a PC gaming site.
In any case, the players of DUST 514 have today, following an extended downtime, found themselves merged onto the Tranquility server — the same server containing the entirety of the EVE Online universe. They’ll show up in chat, they’ll be able to join corporations, you’ll be able to trade with them, and they’ll be in your game for all intents and purposes — except they’ll be running around on the ground like tiny ants, waiting for you to bombard from orbit.
This developer blog from CCP Nullarbor contains a bunch more information on the merger, specifically some UI changes that EVE players can expect as well as the new blueprints that will allow you to send the aforementioned missiles onto their tiny heads.

Why oh why is it PS3? Want to play this.
It looks like quite an interesting integration of the two games.
…Then of course they had to screw it up by making it console only. Talk about wasted potential.
Guess that’s so you can play the PS3 next to your PC and bomb the enemy team as you make a push? Looks interesting.. shame it’s on PS3. Would be cool on WiiU with the touch screen controller features for chat/battle map/inventory… Also for a better looking game :-)
Just looked at buying the merc pack. It says $19.99 online, then you go to the AU PSN Store, and it’s $29.95 – joy another regional price fixed game. Looks like I’ll be skipping it.
