Black Ops 2 ‘Revolution’ DLC detailed in new video: now you can BE the zombie

The next DLC pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has just been formally announced, after being leaked last week. It’s definitely called ‘Revolution’ and it’s set to bring in some sweet new stuff, including four new multiplayer maps, a co-op zombies map, a new weapon and a brand new game mode for Zombies, in which you can finally be a zombie.

The four new multiplayer maps include all new challenges, such as the Hydro map, which will occasionally flood certain areas with water and conveniently wash your corpse clean off the killing floor, and Grind, which is set in a skatepark in California and is comprised entirely of skate ramps and half-pipes, meaning all the surfaces are curved. Exciting.

All this information and more, including details on the new weapon, the Peacekeeper, is available in the trailer below. Check it out and tell us what you think. Revolution is coming exclusively to XBox 360 to begin with, on January 29, and then to other platforms later.

Cool thing to bring in, I dont play COD anymore or play Zombie games [Aside from Walking dead].

But its still good, I think another game has done this before but I cant remember.
Its still a good feature to add, but only if they bulk it out a bit with Class load outs for Zombie players and it being an actual team to join in a match.

Example: The ability to bite and infect others, faster movement, more bullet tanking.

Also it would turn 4 player co op into 2x 4 player matches and the Z team constantly respawn but the humans dont.

Along with NPC Zombies it would be a blast not knowing what is a player and whats an AI Zombie.

Just play left 4 dead.

“no, I must kill the FPS genre!” shouted Bobby Kotick.

The radio said “No, Bobby. You’ve killed it already”

And then Bobby was a zombie.

Not sure why I thought that when reading this article. <_<

diffyman,

CoD zombies is nothing even remotely like L4D.

silenceoz,

This is more like gladiator mode, or man with the golden gun. You only have 1 human player who is getting points, the rest of the players are zombies. When a zombie manages to kill the human player that zombie player takes over the role as the human while the dead player joins the zombie team.

Black Ops 2 already has a 4×4 competitive mode in the form of competitive survival. Where each team tries to outlast/hinder the other team.

CoD zombies is a survival game at the core though, no matter what mode you play.

and yes… I did get black ops 2 just for my love of zombies :P

It’s quite sad really, five to eight years ago purchasing an unfinished game would makes gamers mad, now however since the emergence of platform gaming it’s commonly acceptable to purchase an unfinished game in the knowledge that DLC will be coming out only months after the games release.
