If you’re at all looking forward to Aliens: Colonial Marines next month, then you’ll probably enjoy watching this trailer. Other reasons you may enjoy this trailer: gratuitous swearing, a dude grappling an alien with a power-lifter, and some good ol’ Marine Corps shouting.

What do all those aliens eat anyway? Besides the occasional glut of marines they’ve been depicted living on some pretty barren worlds.

I’ve never really understood all the love for the powerlifter forklift thing.
It’d be terrible at it’s job versus the smaller faster aliens, it only somewhat evened the ground between Ripley and the Mother alien.
I look forward to not being able to play this on any hardware I currently own!

Wow, those graphics were surprisingly underwhelming.
Hopefully the actual game will look better.
Please, go watch Michael bay movies and only play Crysis 3.

In other news, gameplay still looks pretty bad. I suppose they can’t live up to the hype that is AvP 2 marine campaign, but really, the Aliens franchise has never been action horror in any incarnation until now, and now it doesn’t even look like it has horror besides the giger designs anyway (based on what gameplay trailers I’ve seen; one in particular had a guy kill about 10 aliens whilst moving back and forth in a doorway with a smart gun, that was some awful gameplay).
I actually agree… was it lacking texture or polygons? Either way… it didn’t look as advanced as the last AVP and really lacked the visual fidelity we’ve come to expect from a DX10+ game… It looks age’d…. still, I hope the coop gameplay will rock
i thought it looked pretty good! im very excited about this game. Then again i loved DNF too, so maybe im retarded… but duke was so much fun! gearbox can do no wrong in my eyes! :)

404… i tried three times, i thought it might just be me but i dont know why?
EDIT: its working now. very peculiar.
the biggest issue IMO was the crappy animation.
a few more polys would have helped though..
Do we know if this game is going to have dedicated servers for multiplayer?

Yeah the animations look very stiff, which I’m sure will only distract from the suspense. I’m waiting to see a decent stretch of polished (final) gameplay footage though before I make any decisions on this, these random series of quick flashes just aren’t doing it for me.
Half-life 2 still looks amazing, dwarf fortress i have never played and far cry 3 is well … far cry 3 you could have chosen better examples of game-play > graphics is all I’m saying.
I agree colonial marines from that trailer looks ugly I expect more than that from AAA games now game-play is more important but really low graphics quality destroys immersion which is a part of game-play.
@trex, someone liked DNF ? I would have if it didn’t limit me to having 2 weapons only
