Tomb Raider’s ‘Guide to Survival’ videos kick off, showing key game mechanics

The marketing machine has well and truly begun for the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot, and Lara Croft is front and centre in this new ‘Guide to Survival’ series of videos. This first one focuses on ‘Smart Resourceful Lara’, which is a bizarrely constructed phrase that seems to translate to “Here are some of the key mechanics in our video game”. In any case, it’s a good look at how the XP and base camp systems will work, as well as weapon upgrades. Check it out below.

Our own Toby McCasker recently went hands-on with the game, and came away quite impressed. How are you feeling about it?

hmm not sure whether to get this on PC or PS3? its looking good either way!

realllllllly looking forward to this. haven’t played a tomb raider game in ages, only played the first 2 on playstation 1 lol

Seems these gameplay mechanic Vignette’s months/weeks leading up to a release are becoming more and more a mainstream thing it seems. Not that I’m complaining of-course, Glad I picked this one up at some stupidly cheap price over at GmG the other week :D.

where are the massive boobies… :(

Ugh, more fucking skill trees and weapon upgrades.

Fuck you modern gaming.
