It’s time for a round of the Internet’s favourite game, Ill-informed Speculation! Today’s contestants have quite a puzzle before them: Blizzard, the World of Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo publisher known to be working on a new top-secret MMO project codenamed Titan, has mysteriously registered the domain “ProjectBlackstone.com”.

The domain was previously privately registered to someone living in Texas, who let it expire in 2011; the gap suggests Blizzard only just decided to grab the domain, so it may be related to something new rather than an existing title. This theory is also supported by the fact that nobody has turned up a particularly compelling lore-based explanation for why Blizzard might want something called “Blackstone”. Current betting pools are split between “World of Warcraft update”, as there is abridge called Blackstone Span, or “Diablo III expansion”, thanks to plot emphasis on black soul stones in the action RPG.

Or maybe it’s Titan or maybe there’s a second new game in the works or maybe Blizzard has lost the plot and started buying random words. Argue among yourselves.

Woow I LOOOVE ill-informed speculation! Is this the version with the baseless argument DLC? That thing’s brilliant! :P

It’s obviously the long awaited bike dlc.

Sequel to Blackthorne/Blackhawk?

Else it could be a bridge building simulator. Part of the game is to do a feasibility study of toll income for crossing Blackstone Span bridge and then to implement such a tolling system. The person who does the most successful study/implementation will get a job doing similar work for Aust State Government authorities… esp after the numerous botched toll road fea studies such as the one for QLD’s Clem7 tunnel. So in effect, Blizzard is now a HR recruitment company as well.

Blackthorne, that’s it! Awesome game.

I’d pay for a bridge simulator.

yeapal,

Oooh bikes are cool! I can’t wait! Although it probably won’t be available on the PS2 version.

Blizzard is a proven brand name when it comes to computer gaming.. For me a lot of things started, learned and explored after playing my first experience with their initial and pioneer game blowout way back when a was a kid. Now, along other new name in gaming industry, Blizzard still dominates others when it comes to unique and quality gaming. I have read a book of naming at http://awesomebook.eatmywords.com/, and no doubt, the Blizzard name is effective and competitive enough in world of virtual gaming.
