Bethesda dev pours cold water on Skyrim ‘Snow Elf’ DLC rumours, spear skill tree

Skyrim Falmer

A reddit thread from a user claiming to offer “a look inside Bethesda” has been shut down by an official Bethesda developer, who took to the site to trash the claims as “a mixture of half-truths gleaned from interviews and outright falsehoods,” and to say it was “best to just move on.”

“We’re all excited for more news out of Skyrim,” wrote Bethesda’s Ricardo Gonzalez, “but let’s not take advantage of the community’s fervor to peddle silliness. Thanks, and have a good day.”

The original post, which has since been removed, claimed that a separate skill tree for spear use was on the way, with spears being introduced in an upcoming DLC. The upcoming DLC was part of two more planned expansions, each as big as the recently-released (for XBox 360 owners, anyway) Dragonborn DLC.

“Without giving a lot away, the next DLC will explore the beginnings of the Nords and Skyrim’s culture, as well as the Snow Elves and yes, even the Dwarves. The last DLC will involve the choosing of a new King of Skyrim and the war against the elves.”

But, since all that’s not true, there’s nothing to see here. Move along! Move along.

>>war against the elves

FINALLY!!!!

Yep, the war against the dominion is what I want to happen, disappointed it was unresolved in Skyrim. I mean I killed a lot of elves, an embassy full of them as the cherry on top, all the while brandishing my Nord weapons, Nord Colours, screaming Nordish curses, generally raging about like a Nordish Berserker and in between ranting about a free Skyrim.

Obviously too subtle an approach to cause a war against the Elves >_<

Yeah i would love to see an all out war with the Thalmor, disappointed it didn’t really go anywhere.

Still haven’t beat the main questline but man every time I saw a bunch of Thalmor on the road I always provoked them into fighting me. As an agnostic, I found it strange to be riled up and thinking “I’ll believe in Talos if I want to!”.

Would be nice to have a resolution to the Elven war,
Be a great idea for DLC.
No more snow elves though.

That Snow Elf side quest in Dawnguard sucked pretty hard I got stuck in one of the lairs for close to an hour before I turned on No Clip and just flew to the objective.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it was left unresolved until the next game as a 200 year war or something similair.
