Mass Effect Trilogy launches next week: reminisce with this trailer

Mass Effect Trilogy

By on November 3, 2012 at 1:58 pm

I gotta admit, seeing all three Mass Effect games stitched together like this in this trailer really made me appreciate the scale and power of the trilogy. Whether or not you liked the ending of Mass Effect 3, there’s no denying that this is one of the most important series in modern gaming — and on November 6, it’ll be available as a collected trilogy for the first time. Unless you’re a PS3 owner, because then you have to wait until December. Sorry! PC owners can grab it from Ozgameshop for a very reasonable $47.99 or pre-order from Origin for a less reasonable $79.99.

“Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 come with all the DLC included, too.”
This is not correct.

•On PC, Mass Effect will include Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station on disk. For Mass Effect 2, Cerberus Network will be included which features Zaeed – The Price of Revenge, The Firewalker Pack, Cerberus Assault Gear, Arc Projector heavy weapon, and Normandy Crash site mission. For Mass Effect 3, Online Pass will be included granting players access to co-op multiplayer.
•On Xbox 360, Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station are not included with Mass Effect, however they are available as stand-alone downloads through Xbox LIVE. For Mass Effect 2, Cerberus Network will be included and Online Pass will be included for Mass Effect 3.
•Information on PlayStation 3 DLC will be available soon.

Kinda wish this was available on Steam and/or some other form rather than exclusively on Origin (heck if it were sold on GOG I would just die). But I guess people probably wouldn’t use Origin at all unless forced to do so.

Link to a handy dandy chart showing what DLC is available of what platform for their version of the trilogy pack -

They just enough DLC out to make up for having three games in one package for a cheaper (bundled) price. You know its like they think gamers cant do maths.

Snap! Thanks for that, I’ve been misinformed.

$48

No need to pay EA the “Australia Tax” of 80 bucks

Thanks Stoibs, I’ve added the link to the piece :)

No, the whole game is bad and a stain upon the existence of good storywriters everywhere. I barely made it to the citadel before locking it away in my cupboard.

Then 2 weeks later people started complaining that somehow the pile of crap becomes even worse at the end and I knew I would never be able to finish the game that began on Eden Prime and gives me chills in my spine every time I play it for being my first space RPG/FPS.

rapid101,

Somewhat this. The entirety of ME3′s story was a poorly written joke.* It’s to be expected though given the writer of ME1/2 didn’t write ME3.

*Just because it’s still better than 99% of writing in games doesn’t mean the writing wasn’t poor and an insult to the previous two games.

And yeah a complete fail of a compilation. This was NOT what I was looking forward to before.

How did you fit the whole citadel in your cupboard?

Also, you guys forgot to mention how terrible DA3 will be. Oh, and no one blamed EA for ruining ME3 either…. you guys are slipping.

Could at least mention TORtanic or something =((

I was just agreeing with the point that ME3 was poorly written from start to finish. It wasn’t just the end that was a disappointment. Where does EA, DA3 or TOR come into this? :S

So what is the point of this trilogy if it does not include all the DLC?

this trilogy = massive fail like most Bioware games lately.

I’ll be encouraging some people I know to get this, 3 fantastic games.
