GTA IV: Complete Edition goes on sale on Steam

Grand Theft Auto IV

Perhaps to celebrate the announcement of the next game in the franchise, Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition is on sale on Steam. Usually setting you back about $30, The Complete Edition, which includes all DLC is now $7.50, a huge 75% off. It is, in fact, the same price the buy the game without any of the DLC. So there you have it — it is, appropriately, a steal.

If you already own the game and just need to pick up the DLC though, they are also on sale. Episodes from Liberty City would usually cost you another $20 on its own, but is now down to just $5.

So if you’ve been putting off buying this one, or are suddenly interested due to the announcement of the next game, now is the time to buy! The sale will contine for the next 44 hours after the time of writing, so just under two days. Get purchasin’!

I’m suddenly disinterested, thanks to the console only nature of the sequel’s announcement.

Not only that, but GTA IV is a buggy DRM filled mess on the PC.

Buy it on steam, download it, install it, then you need to download and install Games for Windows live, register etc’.
Then you will be asked to register for Rockstar pass and with any luck after hours of stuffing around and provided you don’t run into game-breaking issues you will be allowed to play the game.

The Rockstar thing was removed quite some time ago.
GFWL is not that bad, it’s still better than Gamespy.

Yeah I didn’t have an issue, bought everything on sale in the mid year steam sale. All I can stress is modpacks modpacks modpacks :D Makes an awesome difference to the game :)

With some decent mods though you can make it look even better :P

Any idea if buying the episodes from liberty city will work with a non-steam copy of GTA?

deuscomplex,

From my experience, the original game need to be bought on Steam for the add-ons or DLC to work. But I don’t know if that’s all games, or just the ones I was buying? Anyone else want to weigh in?

So Rockstar Social Club will not be installed? Almost makes re-buying this worthwhile.

just download xlive.dll and it gets rid of GFWL.

Every GTA for the last 11 years has been announced on consoles first and then released on PC 6 months later.

It’ll come

Where has it been said there’s no Pc version to come ?

I really wish people like you would read the facts before blerting crap like this out.

They have only said “THERE WILL BE NO PC RELEASE ON THE LAUNCH OF GTA: V” So that can mean multiple things if they stick to the same plan the did with other GTA games around this time next year it will be on pc or as you say no pc version at all but all GTA games (apart from london and china wars) has been on pc
