Green Man prepare to make Steam sale prices look like rip-off

URGH these PRICES

If you’re enjoying the Steam sales but wishing some of the bigger titles were a bit more discounted, you might want to hold off until Green Man Gaming’s weekend sale kicks off. Starting from 00:01 GMT on Friday (that’s 11:00 AM Sydney time on Friday 23rd), you’ll be able to grab Dishonored for $30, Skyrim for $30, and Doom 3: BFG for just $15.

Then, at 12:01 GMT on the same day (11:00 PM Sydney time), more titles will go on sale: XCOM: Enemy Unknown for $37, Borderlands 2 for $45, and The Darkness II for $15.

We’re assured by GMG that there will be even more titles on sale than these highlights, so stop by and take a look once the sale kicks off at the Green Man site. These sale prices are good until 11:00 AM next Tuesday.

Hooray for GMG!

Shame some titles can’t be bought by people in AU, at least without proxy/vpn, but that’s only a few games. For the most part, \o/

And also double shame you can’t buy the same game twice to gift it :(

I wonder on that front, does it check via CC/Paypal details, or just account, wonder if anything stops you making a 2nd account.

You can buy it as a gift infinite amount of times I assume?
Anyway GMG and new releases such as XCOM are instantly at least on par with Steam discounted prices or they are much much cheaper.

Can the gmg purchases be activated through steam? Just easier to keep all that shizzle in one place I find

I think for the most part, however the ones that do will say this on the page

Third party DRM: Steam
This game requires a free Steam account to play.

So you can easily tell before you buy

Many of them can. Just check the store page for each game. It’ll tell you if you can activate it on Steam.

Ah great. Thanks guys

Buy first time, the option is “Buy Now”. After purchase, the only option is “Download”. Sad Panda

Greenman Gaming Staff just commented on their facebook page that the 25% coupon “almost certainly” will apply to these….

So yeah, GMG25-G4VDR-0ZL4Q

Purchased Tuesday night from Video Ezy online:

Dishonored – $30.36
Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition – $38.36.

Both are physical product delivered at no extra charge. They’ve had some really great prices so far.

wow, video ezy. haven’t see one of those in years.
The only thing i’m really hanging out for is a cheaper copy of skyrim. I ain’t paying steam’s normal $60 (or their current special) and GMG’s $30 doesn’t impress me either because this has been sitting around for ages:

…and they most definitely do:

Dishonored for ~22.50 with the discount applied :)

linxus has confirmed the coupon stacks on GMG, and just checked it myself.
Can’t really complain at $22.50

Dishonoured for $22.50 and I get to activate it on steam! what a deal!

I have to say I have never heard of Green Man Gaming. Great prices and all, but a little wary to put the money out there until I know how it all works.

Does the game down load come from Green Man Gaming and is it counted against my Internode account?

Also there is a forum thread which seems to indicate that there are regional issues with Dishonored CD-Key not able to be activated on steam; thread here http://forums.greenmangaming.com/topic/3620/

Cheers,

Darth Teddy Bear

Not sure about the non-steam games, but the steam ones provide you with an activation code on the screen immediately upon purchase. Which you enter into steam and download through there.

My copy of Dishonored activated just fine.

Hmmmm, indeed. Cheers for the tip!
Though I think I’m gonna spin the wheel, wait a bit and see if steam do a 75% off Skyrim. I’m betting they will.
$15, yeah. I can eat for another 3 or 4 days on that I reckon.
