It’s true, we’re pretty good at the Internet.

Awesome, very excited, if you keep your servers up GoN, this game will continue forever!

Was expecting an article describing what we were trolling iiNet about.

The only reason I’m not getting this game is that I know, in a year’s time, there will be another CoD game. People will stop playing this game and move to the new one even though crap-all has changed. The cycle will repeat. It gets annoying after a while to repeatedly buy the game damn game (almost anyway) just to keep up with the player base.

lol i know!! i am thinking the exact thing, its a bit annoying, you literally get a years worth of online playablity then its time to move on…may get it on ps3 though!

Good news but isnt the PC edition missing a Server browser and use matchmaking instead. Whats the steps to force it to use games.on.net/internode/iinet servers ?

It will automatically search by ping rather than “region”, so you’ll always get an AU server (which is guaranteed to be one of ours).

a year’s gameplay is pretty damn good in my opinion. I’d be happy with like 50 hours from this type of game.

I’m getting massive lag in the GON servers with people jumping around and a noticeable stutter when I actually move around the map.

It’s not my connection as I’ve checked the scoreboard and I’m on full green bars. Oddly enough, this stuttering/lag wasn’t occurring with a yellow bar connection I had earlier in another lobby.

Green bars , OMFG is this a port . Whats wrong with a server browser and ping numbers . Shame to see bad console features on a PC game.

I hadn’t bought a Call of Duty since Modern Warfare 2 (which is by far my favourite one). I got Black Ops 2 because the online community on MW2 had declined so much that I could hardly find a game, and when I did it was usually a lobby with hackers. I don’t expect to buy another CoD for a few more years now, until the BO2 community dies down like MW2.

Glad to see I get it unmetered!

This looks to be a launch woes issue as I played for 4 hours on the first night with no lag whatsoever. Last night I managed to find a couple of servers that were lag-free, but only after joining and leaving many, many chunky servers. I’m not sure if it’s an issue with the server host, or the game itself.

Amusingly, there’s now a new issue where I get instantly kicked from any game I try to join with the message “Server Disconnected – a player has been kicked.” I’ve seen a few other Aussies say they’re getting the same thing, but nothing about it on American forums.

I’m trying to track down some solid info on whether it’s a known issue, or what the deal is.

I just want to blops :(

Excellent news :D

I’d say it’s just launch woes.

Based on this Steam thread, the kicked from server issue is affecting people around the world and not just Australians.

Still looking for official confirmation of the chunky/lag issues, so if there’s any updates I’ll let you guys know.

Hey go go one of my own threads :P Yeah, I too noticed it affecting a lot of Australians, even in chat rooms that had people the world around, but looks to be non localised… that’s almost a bad thing, considering it means that it’s not fixable on our end, and we have to wait for a 3arc fix.

I’d love to collect some feedback from you on how your multiplayer experience has been so far when using the Australian servers. Please head on over to this topic:

Thanks!

Chunky lag seems to be from joining the wrong region server. Took a few attempts but managed to get some aussie servers last night and ran through to about 5am working fine.

However now the disconnect issue is rearing its head and can’t get on a local server (though USA servers are now no longer chunky, just laggy).

Unless you have ping issues like I suffer due to farking Telstra, despite Node’s best efforts I still ping out randomly and lose connection if my download stresses the line to max (8Mbit ADSL Extended @8Mbit). Issues that are still frustrating me :(

Getting incredible lag on these servers. Chugging along even with max green bars. It’s a bit ridiculous and I don’t feel like playing. I’m with internode too.
