Check out Far Cry 3′s map editor in this new trailer

I’m playing Far Cry 3 like crazy at the moment (appropriately) and, while our video review won’t be up until later in the week, I can happily confirm for you that the map editor is exactly as good as it looks in this trailer. With the ability to not only make your own dumb sandbox or adventure maps to play in, there’s also room for you to upload your maps to the community and get them voted on to become official Ubisoft maps. It’s a neat tool, and a welcome inclusion. Take a look.

The addition of custom single-player map making is great news.
The narrator does hesitate on the enemy AI, but I’m hoping he just means you can’t script events and such.
I had quite a bit of fun messing around with FC2′s map editor however the one thing I always wanted was some enemy’s to populate my maps with to mess around in since running around an empty playground becomes a little stale after a while.
They mentioned the addition of ‘caves’ this time around, in FC2 to make anything underground you had to ‘cheat’ your way around it by having to roof areas with objects. Will be interesting to see how they will pull that one off.
