Why not have DST the standard time? Unless it gets to the stage where it's still pitch black at 8am I don't see the problem. No more changing clocks constantly and people get their extra hour in the afternoon, win win.

I think daylight saving is very relevant to R18+ games. Think about it. During the DST part of the year there’ll be a whole hour where 18 year olds in DST states will be able to purchase R18+ games, while their 17-year, 364-day and 23 hour peers in non-DST states will not be able to.

Won’t somebody think of the children?

I wish it was DLS the whole year round. Anyway, back to topic, apparently the 18+ thing had been nurfed anyway still not allowing 18+ content in 18+ rated games. What’s the point of a rating that doesn’t allow the content that it’s there for?
Make the majority of the population happy & implament a proper 18+ rating.

lol brunius, I couldn’t agree more. It’s ridiculous, I see no benefit whatsoever. And it’s annoying having to remember to allow for it. Now we’ve got that dumb shit rolled back here in WA, you just have to manage it over east, and we can finally be free of it.

With regards to the article itself though, it is annoying living in WA, the laws and such seem so ridiculously backwards here and are so slow to catch up. That said the R18+ ratings and stuff are still far too tame for my liking. It seems to me that pollies pushed R18 through just so they could make it more difficult to change to something reasonable for mature adults later. Sometimes the whole of Australia feels like WA :(

Hahaha I am literally laughing here at all the DLS talk. I love it. The off topic conversation that is, not DLS.

I’m not a huge fan of DLS, I honestly cannot see any REAL point to it. I have to change the time on my alarm clock which is an instant annoyance.

People who like it light at 5pm = DLS

Adding my 2cents to this de-railed thread.

Having lived in QLD (No DLS) and lived in SA (DLS) I personally am totally in favour for DLS when I was in QLD the sun was going down at 5pm which is just crap.

Why wouldn’t I want more light hours after work?

I’m conflicted. On the one hand I don’t much like daylight savings (was really late to TAFE today because I slept an hour and a half through my alarm, my BODY knows what time it is). But on the other hand I don’t want to look like I support what pinothy just said. >_>

I can kind of understand DLS in the southern states, it means you’re using more of the daylight hours more effectively. The days get a lot longer down there during summer and inversely a lot shorter during winter. A waste of time up here on the tropic of capricorn, you notice very little difference in the number of daylight hours all year round. (Yeah Qld doesn’t have DLS either you know)
