Project: Eternity has two days to go – still time to pledge!

Project: Eternity

It is officially less than two days until I will shut up about this Kickstarter forever! But in these last 44 hours, GUYS! Go pledge some more money to the Project: Eternity Kickstarter!

At the time of writing the total is sitting at $3.1 million, which is crazy impressive considering their goal was $1.1 million. The last big stretch goal at $3 million added a player-run stronghold, inspired by features like The Sink in the Fallout: New Vegas DLC Old World Blues, where you can craft items, interact with companions and that sort of thing. But people said they wanted to interact with the surrounding lands, to make large-scale changes and go on special quests, more like Baldur’s Gate II or Neverwinter Nights 2. Hitting the $3 million stretch goal has provided these opportunities for players to experience between adventures.

But that’s not all, as they say — there are some wicked cool stretch goals for $3.5 million, including another metropolis, a big city that stretches across multiple maps such as Baldur’s Gate, Athkatla, Neverwinter, and… I can’t really think of any non-fantasy examples. Capital Wasteland and the New Vegas strip, to a lesser extent, I suppose. With your help, we can have two of these far-reaching cities, full of interesting characters and opportunities for a fearless adventurer like you.

There are some great add-ons available now, if you’d like to give more but don’t want to make it to the next tier. They’ve just added Project: Eternity-themed playing cards for $10, T-shirts for $25 and mouse pads for $15. If you don’t want to add extra for shipping there are some digital add-ons, including early-access beta keys, extra copies of the game as well as the expansion pack.

Project: Eternity is really shaping up to be one of the biggest, most detailed and exciting fantasy RPGs to date, so don’t miss out! Pledge a donation and have your say over at their forums or their Kickstarter. They’re heavily involved in the community and have shown a great willingness to listen to feedback.

‘Project: Eternity is really shaping up to be one of the biggest, most detailed’

This is why I don’t like the hype train; development has barely begun and people are already getting crazy excited only over the people involved (Remember what happened with Deus Ex 2 and it was the same team?)

Colour me skeptical, but anticipative.

rapid101,

It’s a fair call I guess, but you also have to understand that this game will not have stupid publishers pushing for an early release date. They’ll have to time to shape the game as I’m sure the gamers will be patient if they do it right.

But yeah, if we could keep the hype train to a minimum that would be magic.

You’re both so cynical! This isn’t ‘hype train’! This is me being genuinely excited! I’m sorry if I’m actually excited for a game, and that it comes across in the article, but don’t think I’m going to hold back because it makes you feel uncomfortable.
