Latest SimCity trailer shows off old fan-favourite – disasters!

SimCity

Those veterans of the original SimCity games will be familiar with disasters. Indeed, sometimes it was fun, nay, therapeutic even, to save your game before summoning every single type of disaster and watch your carefully built yet always dissatisfied city burn to ashes around you. I’m not bitter!

Well, this new-fangled SimCity reboot wouldn’t be a SimCity game without disasters, both natural and, well, supernatural. We don’t get a good look at the old UFO disaster, probably intentionally, this trailer preferring to focus on other, more natural disasters. It’s sure good to know they’re still there though.

This makes me lol. Reminds me of the ubisoft store debacle a year or so ago where all their games online were $0.00. I scored the entire assassins creed catalog and a few splinter cell games thanks to that, haha.

Totally posted in the wrong topic hah!

Awesome :D Was hoping Disasters were back.

Wish they added some kind of Military invasion scenario.
But I guess that would be a bit difficult coming up with a RTS style mini war that fits into the style of game.

Oh man, I’m glad I wasn’t the only one unleashing hell upon my ungrateful citizens (after carefully saving it all first lol) >_>

Nothing sorts out those ungrateful Sims like a tornado through their housing estate, followed by fire, ufo invasion and volcano eruption. No I am not a powerhungry mayor who lets no one, real or imagined, cross the line in his city.

<_<

Can’t wait for this, and hopefully comes out around my birthday, SUPER EXCITED!

I feel dirty but honestly, this game looks epic and i’ve been wanting a new city builder for a while. Always online DRM or no always online DRM, I want this game! O_O

I’m with you Exe!!! Game looks epic :D

Does anyone know how the online DRM works with this game? I really want this game. But if its like Diablo 3 where you playing on their servers and affected by lag then I will be very disappointed.

I’m always online and I don’t mind if it only used for checking you own a legit copy. Though I still against DRM in principle, cause it does nothing to stop the pirates but is annoying for legit owners of the game.

You’re worried that a city management game that is all about the overarching macro gameplay, will be affected by lag? Dunno about you but everytime I’ve ever played Simcity, an incident that would be made worse by lag never really came up…

the game look’s epic.Gonna be my first simcity game :D Can’t wait
