GTA V pre-order artwork leaked – no mention of PC release anywhere

Grand Theft Auto V

By on October 29, 2012 at 2:20 pm

The pre-order artwork for Grand Theft Auto V has been leaked, narrowing down its release window to some time in Spring (Autumn here, presumably) 2013. What is interesting to note though, is that the only platforms logos that are listed on the poster are Xbox 360 and PS3.

While this is all speculation based on a leaked image of the posters — not an official artwork release, even — does this mean that GTA V won’t see release on the PC at launch? More actually official news is anticipated for November, so watch this space for more details.

Don’t make me cry, Rockstar. Please.

I’m not too bothered by no PC just yet. I usually get GTA games on console first then on PC later. Don’t know why. Probably because I grew up playing them on console.

I get ‘em on whatever platform is available first… then get PC later on Steam specials.

I might die a little bit if GTA V isn’t on PC..

Meh. It’s no great loss as they’d probably saddle the PC version with extra DRM which they won’t go into detail on.

I sincerely hope their is a PC version, however I keep my Xbox 360 on ice for circumstances such as this…

If GTA 5 does come to PC then it should use Steamworks which can then link to their Social Club website and app via the “Sign in with Steam” feature (much like how you can sign into sites using your Twitter or Facebook accounts).

wyld,

Feeling that pain.

palzer0,

We can hope not, but knowing these guys, GFWL. Or, if anything like LA Noire or Max Payne 3, Rockstar Social Club will come and save us from GFWL.

GTA has NEVER, not once been released on PC at the same time as consoles. It’s always been a year later.

Why would anyone think this time around would be any different?

(Not including GTA, GTAII and GTA London)

It will come out, just 6 months later like all GTA games since 2001.

no new news there, they need to port it too pc,

spkypwnsuall,

Hence why I said to use Steamworks as it can link with the Social Club site and app (Saints Row 3 does this for its web-based community features). Hell. Even integrate it into the game itself like Gearbox did with their Shift service in Borderlands 2.

it’s a piracy measure. They will sell much more if they release on console first. Hell I bought a PS3 just to play GTA IV when it came out because I couldn’t wait, and then played it again all the way through on PC.
