I can get <10 ms with Traktor Scratch DVS using a Traktor Audio 6. Still, my i7 macbook pro and Ibanez bass is eagerly awaiting it.

Get a tutor (especially if you're playing bass) at least for a couple of lessons so you don't get into bad habits.
