Clan support in Heart of the Swarm detailed by Blizzard

StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm

Blizzard have released an update on clan support in Heart of the Swarm, revealing that clan members will have access to their own clan window where members can engage in private chat, post news for all members to read, and an information tab where clan officers can post announcements. A membership roster will also be available.

Anybody can create or join a clan, and all clans have their own clan tag which will be affixed to the front of player names. Clan leaders can promote or demote clan members as they see fit.

The announcement post on Battle.net also mentions Blizzard are working on ‘groups’, which are similar to clans but much larger and looser. “We expect that Groups might be focused on a specific genre of Arcade game, geographic location, BarCraft, community website, popular personality, or eSports organization. How you use Groups will be completely up to you!”

Clans are coming in this week’s 2.0.1 patch, with Groups on the way in the future.
