Blizzard details upcoming changes in first post-Pandaria World of Warcraft patch

World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

Blizzard may have only just launched, but Blizzard are already hard at work planning what their next patch will achieve. Patch 5.1, which they plan to deploy on the PTR shortly, will increase the tensions between Horde and Alliance as both sides land expeditions on the shores of the islands of Pandaria, bringing new daily quest hubs and faction reputations.

Solo PVE challenges will also be available in the form of the ‘Brawlers Guild’ challenges, against “some of the toughest creatures in World of Warcraft”. The Pet Battles system UI will also undergo significant changes, including a way to “upgrade the rarity of the pets that you’ve captured”.

Finally, Valor Points will be able to be used on upgrading the item level and quality of gear you already own, while sure Wrathion is “additional tasks for players to complete as they continue their quest for Legendary gear”. Get in.

Noice. Been enjoying it all so far, they really have captured the feel of Chinese myth and legend nicely. On the system side, it’s a bit of a shift and difficult to grasp (and accept) at times, but it’s starting to make more sense and we’re getting used to it.

Overall, a step up.

lol pandas

Favourite expansion so far by a long shot (minus the whole golden lotus rep grindy thing)

I can see people raging about the brawlers guild tho “insert it’s easier for class x arguement here”.

Exactly,

When your making a whole expansion based on 1 unit then you know they’ve run out of ideas.

Im still waiting for emerald dream…

Imagine if they actually got to release 1.13 with karazhan back in the day…..ah can only dream.

Maybe they just wanted to ‘expand’ on something with the expansion. ;D

syncourt,

Well, Warcraft 3 hinted that the pandas were rare creatures very rarely seen. now there’s thousands of the bastards running around everywhere.

kinkykel,

you mean how they lived in the mists and only a few of them ever ventured outside the mists ?
