Runic Games has made my day, your day, and everybody’s day by putting a release date on Torchlight II at long last. The highly anticipated action RPG sequel drops on September 20 – just under three weeks away. You can preorder the PC version for $20 on Steam, with a Mac release to follow.

“Thank all of you for being an awesome and patient community,” Runic Games founder Travis Baldree said. Torchlight II has been in development since at least August 2010, and was expected to release sometime last year. Judging by the trailer below, it might have been worth the wait.

Yes. YES. YEEEEES!

GEEZ! This & Borderlands 2 within a couple days of each other. I’ll be bunked down for a while :D

Yussssssssssssssssssssssssss

bout time!

Let’s hope the release is not a shambles like D3 was.

I imagine the delay was all about letting Diablo 3 show it’s flaws and then capitalising by offering a similar game that “fixes” those flaws – in a sense.

Sorry TL2. You’ll have to wait until I’m finished with BL2.

That trailer music was awesome.

Also kinda funny how Torchlight 1 & Borderlands 1 released within days of each other and now it’s happening again with the sequels.

Terrible release date :(

yeapal,

+1

Got my hack-n-slash fix from D3 which will keep me sated till I smash out Borderlands 2

I’m so looking forward to this and borderlands 2 !!

And I’m so pleased to hear that the loot will scale with the difficulty setting and we get to keep playing with our character like in diablo when switching difficulty. This is great news!!!!

Actually I think the release date is well timed due to the mess that Diablo 3 was. It’s set to capitalise on D3′s failures and at the same time offers a very attractive price point.

wowzers, this looks still looks fantastic.

4-pack anyone? :P

Borderlands 2 and Torchlight 2………I think I’m about to forget what daylight looks like.
