Oddworld: Strangers Wrath released in HD for the PC, sale on to celebrate

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath

The long-awaited HD remakes of the classic Oddworld games are starting to roll out, with Oddworld Inhabitants announcing on Friday that the HD remake of Strangers Wrath is now available on Steam. To celebrate, the game is now on sale for 30% off for the next few hours, making it a paltry $6.99.

Of course if you’re one of the people who already own Strangers Wrath on Steam but not in HD, never fear: Oddworld Inhabitants have announced that all existing game owners will get the HD update for free “from their chosen online store soon”.

The update also includes other new features, such as 12 new Steam cheevies, new languages, higher polycount models, more difficulty levels, and bonus easter eggs.

This game was so great and If you haven’t played it you should!

Steam patched it up on.. Friday I think it was?

Bought the Abes Pack off steam, never played Stranger’s…will have to now.

Haha I bought Abes pack as well, was cheaper to buy the Oddworld pack to get Munches as well than both separately, too bad I didn’t get duplicates :(

I just cannot do it. I have this game in my collection from PlayStation Plus and it is not as good as it should be. The platforming feels so stiff and rudimentary (the actual mechanic, not the puzzles) and the choice for voice actor for ‘the Stranger’ in HD is so off he sounds like an angry drunk all the time. Maybe I need to play it a bit more but it did not leave me with the drive to want to keep playing.

My thoughts…

Sweet, I am one of those people. I was worried I’d have to buy the game again for a moment there.
