Hanging out for a film adaptation of Metro 2033? You’re going to get your wish it seems, as MGM have snapped up the film rights to the Dmitri Glukhovsky book on which the first game is based.
The screenplay script will be written by F. Scott Frazier and produced by Mark Johnson, the man behind The Chronicles of Narnia and the delightful Galaxy Quest.
No word on a director or anything of the sort yet, but it’s early days. The Hollywood Reporter, who broke the news, have a whole bunch more details about who exactly these people are and why you should get excited, so take a look.

At least they’re starting with a game with a substantial story behind it. I think metro 2033 could make a great movie but if its in native English its going to loose a lot of the charm that the game had for me.
I just can’t imagine a movie experience being better than the gaming experience here.
It doesn’t have to be better just complimentary
WTB all in Russian adaptation…
