Dragon Age III: Inquisition formally announced, will use Frostbite 2 engine

Dragon Age III Logo

After leaking like a sinking ship, BioWare have finally officially confirmed the existence of Dragon Age. Subtitled Inquisition, Dragon Age III has also been announced to be using DICE’s Frostbite 2 engine for what BioWare are calling “a more expansive world, better visuals, more reactivity to player choices.”

The official announcement is heavy on words but light on detail, with the only confirmed points so far being the title, the Frostbite 2 engine, and the same development team from both of the previous Dragon Age games. The leaked storyline so far revolved around a civil war in Orlais that the player character — an Inquisitor, natch — is sent in to investigate.

“Inquisition” what a unusually awkward word to have as your tagline…

“After leaking like a sinking ship”

Nice old republic reference there Tim

I imagine if they’d used Inquisitor Games Workshop would’ve sued the pants off of them.

Besides, it’s a simple plot device; Inquisitor goes good because of some major event that happens that goes against their whole code?

I bet it’s going to be a terrible game.

Unworthy King

So hyped for this game!

Frostbite 2 seems to be spreading, EA must want to see how it performs across all types of genres.

I’m not optimistic that I’ll like it as much or more then DA:O.

Origin only I’m gonna assume.
