You may remember that last month we did a thorough hardware review of the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 Ti? And that we described its “excellent performance while remaining whisper quiet” and called it “solid value for money”? Well, now we’re putting our money where your mouth is, so to speak — and giving one away.
How do I enter?!
Much like most of our contests here at games.on.net, it couldn’t be simpler! All you need to do is leave a comment on this article explaining, in 150 words or less, why you desperately need to upgrade your computer with this card more than anybody else. Maybe your computer is currently wheezing and coughing up blood, or just belching smoke every time you fire up something more demanding than Solitaire.
With the end-of-year release-avalanche fast approaching, you’re going to need all the graphical power you can get. Now’s your chance to tell us why it should be you.

Please sir, I am but a poor, lowly technician/shoe shiner struggling with my poor lowly computer. I want to show my poor children the joys of seeing Crysis at ultra high detail one day, it’s my last wish that before I expire to visit the quire invisible that they should no longer look down on me for having such a pitiful computer, that they can puff out their little chests with pride and say “daddy’s computer is awesome!” That would leave a tear in my eye and make my gaming life so much more bearable. Please give me this nice video card, if you do I shall pet it, and feed it, and water it, and say really nice things to it, and cuddle it to sleep every night.

I don’t need this card, but I want it as it looks pretty and stuff.

No, it’s not because of its measly 512MB ram or lack of DX11 support, it’s because it has 0x WINDFORCE cooling. This thing has 2X?! Holy crap, I need one ASAP.
Why I need this card:
I game in a bathtub full of warm gravy lined with crispy Bacon strips. This is my permanent home and I am unable to leave it in fear of a dog eating me and my pet Llama Steve. He is a good Llama; he eats treats and doesn’t deserve to die! He even does my shopping for me! He went out and got me a computer with a GTS450! It ran well for a time, when the computer started to not be able to play games well, the gravy got cold and the bacon went rotten. Please help me; I need to continue playing The Old Republic and Battlefield 3! I am begging you, if you don’t help me, help my pet Llama Steve; he deserves to watch someone play good games.

I currently have a 7600GT which is amazing at playing the latest games (at lackluster resolutions). That’s all fine & dandy you say, but a close family member of mine has just been diagnosed with a blood cancer, so my spare $s are going towards her treatment. The GTX 660 Ti would make a huge difference in my gaming & probably help me deal with all the rest going on.

I need this card, because recent conversion from “no dependants” to “new dad” my finances no longer can be put toward that ever noble pursuit of higher end graphics and faster framerates.

Due to a rather ill thought-out deal with everybody’s favourite dirty dealer (Satan), I am bound to never buy another videocard again, whilst my current card still works. This was in exchange for raising my 4870 from the dead, during a dramatic moment when I thought it was at last, never to draw another triangle again. Unfortunately, that tricky bugger fixed it a little too well – it just won’t die. It’s cursed to power on. I sacrificed my card into slavery – it can never pass on. My friend, who had shown me so many beautiful things – bought on the release of STALKER CS, it’s drawn everything from Planescape: Torment to The Witcher 2. And now it burns, every moment in excruciating agony. But it is not allowed to die.
Please GON. You’re my only hope. Only a gifted card can let my 4870, finally.… be at peace.

Pfffft! My wife says I ain’t seeing any “business time” until the video card in my rig has been replaced with something that doesn’t keep her up all night with its constant whirring, buzzing and blowing… hang on, we’re still talking about graphics cards right?!

He’s become a father recently, and while he loves gaming, money’s tighter, his PC is starting to age now (GTX270) and can’t really push a lot of current games. Time out is pretty rare when caring for your firstborn, so it’d make a big difference to him to enjoy those few moments he does get to himself now.
He’s been asking me about advice recently for upgrading his card, and it’d be pretty cool if I could hand him a new one as a gift!

Well desperately need this beautiful new graphics card as my gtx560 has just had a sudden and horrific death of smoke and fire thanks to my partner who used my computer while I was not home.
Now I find myself stone broke as I can’t work at present due to meical reasons and unable to purchase a new card to play my favourite games.
I don’t ask for or expect pitty but I do miss playing my games battlefield 3 and star wars the old republic as using my very very old computer is like trying to play back in the stone age it is almost impossible.

The best reasoning I can think of that I need a new graphics card: I hate AMD, and my computer came with one. AMD Radeon 6000 series, and I want to be able to play my games with the finest graphics cards around, especially Battlefield 3, Borderlands 2, and other graphically demanding games.
Who needs a AMD when Nvidia takes the cake? I still have the original voodoo 3 cards laying around somewhere!

I’m currently stuck gaming on a laptop on a stable table and a folder for my mouse mat …blegh. After 2 years of no gaming PC I’m desperately wanting to get back to using a desktop, have missed some major titles, most particularly BF3. Help me GON, you’re my only hope (to get the most expensive component sorted so I can afford the rest of my PC)
I’m in the process of building a new rig after coming to the realisation that my laptop is dying and that my last desktop, which I was still using until a few years ago, was rockin’ a P4 and a 7600GT…in an AGP slot. However my efforts have stalled. Half my future rig is sitting in a box in my cupboard, the other half is imaginary (I need to save all my money for rent next semester). I may have to wait ’til Christmas to receive some charity parts from my bro to complete this rig OR skip on the GFX card for now and run on-board graphics until I can scrounge some cash together for something much less than a GTX660. Either way, how I am I supposed to play on your lovely servers or even begin to think about getting any new games without this!?
My poor dear machine. Up until recently it has been getting by on 2 very overclocked GTX275′s in SLi, made possible through liquid cooling. Unfortunately for me, the liquid pump corroded in on itself, making a short circuit and killing the unit and my PSU. I would love to be proud of my beast again.
To be honest this card will only benefit me indirectly. I already have a kick ass computer; however my good friend is playing on a tombstone which I fear if carbon dated may predate time itself.
We have started playing Guild Wars 2 which as everyone knows is heaps of fun to play with friends, however sadly a stout and powerful guardian is not much use protecting me if he is suffering from the dreaded 2 – 4 fps plague on minimum settings. I wish to cure him of this plight and I need games.on.nets help!
So if I win I will build him a new computer that would make angels cry because it will be that awesome. I would be happy to document the build process and wear a silly hat while doing it if that is worth anything in making your final decision. :)

This is my year for upgrades and after spending over $2000 I just run out of money for more so this will be perfect to test my new specs. Also maybe I will even forgive nVidia for that dog card i bought 5 years ago if it performs better than my current ATi.
I definitely got the goods to test it with newest tech 2011 Motherboard, 32GB Ram, ultimate Cpu Cooler and Hex core CPU.
How does a Nvidia Gt 230 with busted fan sound? The answer, like throwing your pencils into a blender and slaming it on the highest setting!

Seeing I never win anything and tend to get screwed over by someone or something at every corner i reckon you great lads at Gon should make my year by giving me this prize.
I spent the last 18 months saving all my spare change so that I could afford a pc upgrade. I recently purchased these new parts, put it all together myself to save extra cash but unfortunately I did not have room in my budget for a video card. So now my pc is running onboard video. To make matters worse I do own a Dell 27″ monitor which runs at such a high definition that coupled with my onboard graphics the only games I have been able to play are old school rts. I have a copy of guild wars 2 right here just waiting for a graphics card to fire it up.
Why do I need this? I have chronic insomnia, and I host Skype calls all night. My GTX260 is too loud, it keeps me awake at night. If this 660 is truly whisper quiet, it would solve a lot of my problems
I need desperately need this upgrade because the dark shoggoth that rises from my current AMD card every time I try to play, belching toxic smoke and and ill will requires me to be locked in a tense battle for my sanity – the tendrils of terrible bioses fuel its strength, and with each passing gaming session, I grow more and more weary of fighting it I am left with naught but terrible FPS and an ever growing unplayed gaming pile, the mere sight of which deteriorates what is left of my happiness.
Give reprieve, please; free me from this cycle of disappointment, insanity and lost frames. Release me from the clammy grip of this terrible AMD card, and into the cool, relaxing bosom of the GTX 660 TI.
I don’t need this GPU, hell no (got the big brother, GTX 670 windforce 3X).
I write to you as a plea to save my friend and pull him from the dark ages, into the grandeur of high performance computing. So far, we have assisted him in upgrading his satellite internet (ping of 2000ms+) to one of internode’s naked plans, he now gets under 100ms (loved us for it too).
His current PC is a dust filled coughing beast with a GTS250 (like, I can’t tell the gaps in the heat sink on the CPU that’s how bloody bad the dust is). Now that he can truly enjoy gaming on low pings, performance lag is getting in the way!
It be an honour to say to him “sup, I won you a GPU” and bring technological enlightenment upon him.

Working 6 days a week to make end meet, supporting a wife, ex wife three kids and a dog. I find it hard to relax, so this would go a long way to saving my sanity!(BF3 here i come!)
My old 8800Ultra got burned, so now i’m ‘gaming’ with my 7900gtx :/ This would be a perfect upgrade!
My graphics card is about 4 years old, and since then, games have upgraded their visuals requiring more power. I play games competitively, and with the release of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, I can only reach approximately 40-50 fps on the lowest possible settings, hence not experiencing the full rego. Really need to upgrade the graphics card to play at my best. Much love.
See all those people who posted before me? they didn’t need to crank up their computers like the old cars or get steam power like an old train. It took me 4 hours to get the wood fired steam boiler up to temperature to power the pistons that turn the fan on my old graphics card. While that was happening, I had to power up the generator that can power my card which meant I had to walk 2km for some petrol. Then when the petrol was put in the generator I had to crank the engine to get it started, nearly breaking my arm. All this for my old card. Now, if I got the 660 Ti, I wouldn’t need steam power or a generator. In fact, you would be saving the planet: less carbon output means GON would be saving the world if it gave me the card.
Man would i love to try one of these bad boys. Last time i have upgraded was my 9800gtx with a pentium 4. Always wanted to have a try with games like Battlefield 3 and Diablo 3 with decent gameplay but i never get the chance with all different issues in life.

Everytime i try to run a game, even on the lowest settings, my computer crashes. Everytime i try to do some GPU folding, it crashes. I just can’t win with my current graphics card.
I am but a student studying hard with just enough free to time to enjoy what i love most, that is gaming although i have been rendered unable to do this for my now old video card had finally burnt out as i attempted to run battlefield 3 on medium bad choice on my part know it ran poorly on low. I would love to have a gtx 660 ti wind-force 2x to continue what i love and that is gaming with my friends and family, i also thought of learning how to use 3d modeling programs or the unreal engine bring my imaginations to life but i cannot do this without a video card i am sure this brand new powerful card will be a perfect fit for me, Thank you.

well.. i dont have a video card at all (using the intel hd3000)
this is what happened, about 6 months ago i got a new case and board for my gf and my pc.
i started with her pc first, p67 and 550ti. after putting everything together the install was going fine, till i smelt a burn odor. her PC froze. after reseting (i didnt see anything weird) it wasnt giving video. i tried my vid card (gtx560) and it was fine, tried hers again no go. tried mine one more time to go tru the install. i discovered that one of the psu cables was rogue, and it was stopping the vid card from spinning, her vid card died. i gave her mine (cuz her board doesnt have integrated graphics). and well i work on project based.. i might get one in 2 months but nothing is certain. basically the reason for me to get a free vid card, is that i dont any at the moment.
I have a 4850HD that can scrape through Guild Wars 2 at 35FPS on low, overclocked. Battlefield 3, 25 FPS.
I have an SSD with my HDD that has become so corrupt that after 30 minutes my whole computer freezes, and BSODs which I haven’t witnessed in years until 2 weeks ago. This HDD takes 13 minutes to start up.
I have a hand-me-down processor which is thankfully quad core.
I a DVD drive with broken clips that half hangs out of my case until I plug it in weekly; until then it is my cup holder.
With my old card, I am going to give it to my cousin so he can build his first gaming computer as he games on a laptop which runs slightly worse than my rig (he would also have his first woodwork project in building a swivel stand so he can play on his bed due to his bad back).
Why should I get the card?
I haven’t lied. I certainly don’t have the worst computer here either.
What I do have is gratitude.
A new GPU would be appreciated like nothing else I have ever received, much less the fact I’d gratefully be able to play all the games in my steam account at maximum, not minimum.

He installed a 580. I was distraught.
He then went another one further than me and bought 2 580′s.
After this I met my lady friend, Anna we moved out together as we were in love.
Because of the struggles of moving out I cannot compete with his wild amount of Excess income.
I purchased one 580 from him after he bought a 690.
In my ongoing war with Simon I need a 660 to at least keep close to his new found power with his 690.
It is a horrible circumstance I find myself in that I am stuck a generation behind of my dear [Secretly despised] friend.

I’m currently running a 5 year old Q6600, 8800GTX with 4gb ram (after my meagre upgrade of a GTX260 literally started smoking and broke). As a student in the middle of my course, all spare money goes towards pizza and beer. This, I realise, is the epitome of a first world problem, but it certainly is a problem. If a video card could be thrown my way, it’d make enough of a difference that I could afford the rest of the computer on my own.
I miss the long nights of Battlefield at acceptable framerate. I miss being closer with clan-mates than real life friends. And most of all, I’ve missed the mark with every entry in every other contest here so I’m hoping this one is ok.
Also if this isn’t convincing, I’d totally take a consolation prize of becoming a freelance writer again. Looooooove yooooooooooooooou.
Probably because I live in this low standard country where I can only dream to buy this card. Maybe one day, but maybe. Good luck too all competitors :)
How would I install that in my Commodore 64, does it come with external connections?
As a major gamer, and music creator, I have used nvidia and gigabyte products for a long time. but my computer (worth about $1400) was stolen about a year ago. Now I have acquired parts and pieces to regain a nice set up, but my graphics card is only an 8400gs! So as you can see, there is no gaming being done on my pc :( maybe one day i will have my awesome set up again.
I have been contacted by an alien intelligence. It has warned me not to contact the authorities. The intelligence has transferred an interactive program directly into my PC and has informed me that in order to justify the continued existence of the human race I must ‘solve the puzzle’.
I can do this, I have trained my entire life for this one moment, without even knowing it, at times I think that this is why I have been chosen. Nevertheless I am disturbed that the fate of humanity rests on my shoulders.
The only problem is that when I run the software package, all I get is an error message: ‘Graphical processing cycles insufficient’. It looks like my old GTX 470 might just cause the end of the world, unless I can win a GTX 660ti from games.on.net and save the human race!

The grapic card I am useing right now is a geforce 9800,no longer being made!
this card is perfect for me coz i’m just a 17 year old living in a not-so-rich village in Malaysia.. i never felt how its like to have a gaming set.. neither a pc of my own… the existing pc in my house is my father’s .. and runs standard celeron 700mHz with 256 PC133 SDRAM.. i’ve been keeping my own money for about 20cents a day and managed to get a motherboard that can support PCI-e.. and my parents promised if i can get a graphic card to make it work they’ll cover up for the processor.. they really do want me to have a pc set of my own.. a good rig for me to study and enjoy at the same time.. and i hope this is the best chance for me to taste the joyful moments that most people get everyday and mostly took for granted.. i swear if i get this i will take care of my pc forever.. thanks for reading..

Well my older brother for years has been yapping on about how good PC is compared to Xbox (since thats is what i game on) until he upgraded and I was able to use his old PC.
Sadly his torment still continues as now he has a newer PC and laughs that my graphics is so ‘crapy’ in comparison. Not only that but my old 9800gt died and I have to borrow my dad’s graphics card as he dose not need it at the moment. But i just found out that I a few weeks he will be wanting the GPU back and I’ve yet been able to buy another as getting a job is harder than I first though.
So If i win I will have a better graphics than my older brother and be finally be able to show who boss :)
im playing battlefield3 at around 15-20frames per second and its just unbearable but still put up with it coz i love the game it would certainly boost the performance of my pc and i would be able to play properly with my mates.
My computer isn’t terrible but my graphics card is…. I’m stuck on a AMD card and being a console player converted to pc because of graphics I need a new one and it needs to be a Nvidea for PhysX of course. I plan on getting a GTX 690 but at the rate I get stuff that could be another 3 years and they’ll be another to get :( A Nvidea card and an extra gig of graphics power would be a dream to me, so please help me out xoxoxo P.S. The feeling of acquiring a top of the line graphics card is something I would like to re-live again. It was a mid summer day when I stumbled upon a promotional competition for Geforce. The winning prize was a Geforce 2 GTS. I was nervous. I was not prepared. I only had the adrenaline. This card will give me eye-candy that I craved for at the time. I sweat, I swore, I made mistakes and I made new friends, but more importantly – I got the card. Feeling the power of the new card felt like really living in the present and not the past. The quality was unmatched at the time. It has been 12 years since I felt like I was living in the gaming-present. I want to re-live the moment. The adrenaline.
Personally, I have a use more important than just gaming.
As a freelance 3D artist, I’m constantly pushing my current machine to its limits with what I need it to do.
Each and every day I spend time working on portfolio pieces to try and improve my chances of landing a studio job somewhere in Australia.
My current GTX 260 sadly leaves me with render and texture baking times high enough to slow me down to a standstill sometimes, and often it chugs along during in-engine environment editing.
A new card like the 660 Ti would not only allow me to play the odd game at a much nicer pace, but help me to get to MAKING the games we’ll see in the future look and feel extra pretty.
I’d greatly appreciate the ability to work faster and harder with less hardware headaches. Think of it as investment in making future games and their environments look even better!

With a solid sometimes stressful job, working upwards of 60 hours a week, there’s no decent gaming to relax after a hard days work!

I was about to upgrade my pc when i found out my partner was pregnant. As i dont make alot of money in my job ive had to put my pc on hold. I would like to win this video card as it would make a great start upgrading my current pc.
I recently discovered that my cpu heatsink was not seated properly, my cpu has been running at 80c idle and sitting on the 100c ceiling while playing most new games (or doing anything really for that matter).
So alas I am looking at rebuilding. I say I am worthy of this card over any other person because only a true PC Master could run a core i7 at 100c for more than a month and still have a working computer.
The reason why I desperately need to upgrade my computer with this card more than anybody else is that I am very lucky when entering contests. Actually I win every time. Thank You very much for the opportunity.
One day I bought a computer, and over the many, many years I have been slowly replacing each component inside of it, it’s basically Frankenstein; at this point it’s missing the side and most of the front of the case and operates on 2 of the 5 hard drives inside. The SATA cables are actually external of the tower for the most part. Some days I try to treat it by taking it over to my friends place for LAN games, but I think it gets a bit disoriented or something as it flat out refuses to boot up; giving me rebellious beeps and whirs to let me know that it wants to go home. Not to mention is insatiable appetite for thermal paste. Please can I has GPU now?

And guess what? I’m currently stuck in the situation where you either splash out on a card and forego some good games.. or splash out on games and painfully play them at ~10~15fps (yes im currently a very low end ati card on an overclocked i7-2600k *shock* *horror*….)… What’s worse is the card only gives ~10~15fps at its max overclock >=[
So yeah. In conclusion, I desperately need this card as not only will it be the finishing piece to my build, but for borderlands, assassins creed and halo in the holidays :D

I am in desperate need of a new graphics card. I have an XFX GTX-460 at the moment. Not only does it randomly stop working, the fan attached to the card does not work, So I am using an old case fan, taped down to the card itself. Having a card the randomly stops working is horrible because I can rarely play the games that I want to play on my PC.

I have always been a mac user most of my life… Til about a 2 years ago that I decided to get into the PC gaming world. I built my first computer EVER. The computer was great til recently when my not great graphics card decided to go on the fritz and not allow me to do my day to day combat against all humanity. When I try to power up the computer it just stays a black screen and nothing else happens. So, now I’m computer-less and just trying to save up for a awesome graphics card so I can get back to gaming. Its hard to save up because most of the money I have will go to Christmas presents for family and such. It would be awesome if I won this contest. Many a year I spent tracking down the infamous “Windforce” from the Diablo series, my childhood was dedicated to it but I was never in luck, I’d all but quit my search for the holy grail, but then I saw this competition! To fulfill my childhood dream I MUST HAVE IT.
I “NEED” (ie: don’t actually need) this card for my media centre. Since Steam Big Picture has come out, I “NEED” (ie: I’m a glutton for shiney things) this card so I can sit back and relax on the couch, playing all of the games which play best with a controller. I NEED (ie: I’m a decadant fool with no chance in hell) to cradle this thing in my arms, stroking it and cooing softly while my girlfriend looks on it bewilderment and something akin to regret. Actually, I’m building a machine for my nephew with Aspergers/Austism and this would go nicely in it.
I don’t have any money after I pay off all of my bills to by such an amazing graphics card. Right now I have an 8400gs I really want to enjoy today’s games my card can’t do anything at all. I would be so grateful if I was given this card it would make my day and allow me to enjoy games like Battlefield 3 and Guild Wars 2

Currently using a Geforce 230GT nvidea graphics card to try and play my games like Guild wars 2 and World of warcraft. with the latest WoW coming out in less then 2 weeks id love to be able to play this game in ultra detail with this graphics card. I’ve been planning on upgrading since last summer when a “professional” computer removalist dropped my tower, causing the card to snap the slot, which damaged both the motherboard and the card. Insurance would have covered it, but only if I could pay upfront to either replace or upgrade the parts. A new motherboard meant a new processor, and of course a new card, OS, etc. It was still functioning for most games, so my computer guy (who had never seen anything like the damage inflicted upon “Hydra,”) simply moved the card over to another slot.
This will be my first DIY upgrade. I’m nervous and anxious to get it over with, but I’m still missing 2 things: OS and a graphics card. OS comes after bills next week.

My loyal and trustworthy Beast is pining ever so loudly for a upgrade, You barely hear him during the day with music, but at night, when all is quiet, you can hear him getting ever so louder, pining, grumbling, wanting a new upgrade, During gameplay, for a 4 year old, he’s still quite fast, but he’s starting to wear out quicker, switching through weapons and items is taking just a fraction of a second longer.. We all know lag is not an option!
Due to recent heavy rains here in Perth our house had a some flooding and well sad to say it got to my computer luckily the only thing that got any damage was my gigabyte gtx 580, completely fried. so at the moment i have a non usable computer. All i have ever had used in computing hardware is Gigabyte due to there reliability and great support, this card would be so great :)
I have a wonderful gaming PC all built and ready to go, except for one thing. The graphics card I originally bought for it died less than a month after I bought it and I’ve had no end of trouble trying to get it replaced. To be able to pop in a brand new card that simply works would make my year!
I’m a casual console gamer. Sorry.. I was a casual console gamer – until I thought I’d give DayZ a try. Now I’m hooked (and my consoles are gathering dust). The only thing that bothers me is the Zombie realism is exacerbated by a frame rate that’s out of the dark ages. When I hear shot my only option is to run. With a card like this I could stand and fight – and hold my own in the apocalypse. I could protect the coastal bambis from the bandits, could give me beans to those in need, could even take to the air in a chopper! As it stands I can only watch my screen strobe as a zig zag into the hills in the hope that my foes have a card as lame as mine. Who knows – with a new card I may even invest in more PC games?
I play computer games with my fiance, he patiently waited whilst my load screens came up and sympathized when my graphics would freeze and stutter, then a month ago a brand new shiny gaming rig appears on my desk from him so that I could game with less stress (and he would wait less), his own rig is over three years old and instead of buying himself one and handing down his beast he bought me a new machine, better than his own.
I want to repay him and this sweet card would be so much better than the one he currently has and would help me not have to wait for his loading screens to finish loading before we can game together.
I have a laptop – yes I hear you say, “you an’t put this ard in a laptop. And neither an you spell ‘an’t’ or ‘ard’.” hene the point. My laptop is dying, its ‘c’ key no longer works reliably (either spamming until I hit it hard enough, or not working at all) and I had to copy/paste a ‘c’ in from the address of the page… now that I’m back after a long time overseas and don’t need to art my omputer with me, I’m saving for a new desktop. But it’s a long way off to replae this poor malfuntioning laptop. Help me – before I hit my lappy too hard. Please, show pity on a guy with a faulty ‘c’, and give him a boost up toward replaeing this with a shiney new desktop.

I recently upgraded specifically for big Machinima based projects here’s a link to a very early WIP video: http://youtu.be/gSsE5pEhuO0 I’m still working out the script for a possible series and looking around for voice actors, As for the GPU see in that video I’ve graphically modded IV to get the most out of it’s visuals, As i upgraded i ran out of cash at the GPU so I’m currently borrowing a friends 5850 but he may want it back at any moment, IV chugs along quite poorly with a heavy amount of mods but if i had a 660TI then lag no more! I can then focus on saving up for a Capture Card as I’ve been looking into other games to do short machinima projects that don’t have built in video editors such as Shogun2, Skyrim and others.

My poor old desktop is starting to become outdated. It just can’t keep up with modern games. I can’t live stream anymore, hell, i can’t play minecraft without a little lag. My Geforce GTX 460 isn’t cutting it for me. I started youtube but decided to stop because of how ‘laggy’ the footage looked. My current graphics card sounds like a chainsaw scraping against some of the plastic. This graphics card is the thing i need to get back on track with youtubing and livestreaming. Mostly I just won’t be able to afford a graphics card for a few years from now.

About 3 months ago I splashed out and bought the parts and built myself a new system with some money that I’d put aside; It consists of an Asrock Z77 Ex-4 MB, 3570K CPU, OCZ Fatality PSU, 8GB 1600MHZ G-Skill Sniper memory, 128GB OCZ Vertex 4 SSD, H80 Corsair water cooler and a Bitfenix Raider case. I didn’t have enough saved for a new graphics card and the missus won’t let me spend more money on my build so PLEASE… I am so desperate for this card that I could scream and I love absolutely Gigabyte products!!!

I extremely need it because i have to buy a new computer but my budget is very small, so if i win this card, i can not buy an other one. I need it because with my current pc, that is 10 years old, i can’t play any new game.
Unfortunately, i’m not lucky and i’m trying from many months to win a card, but no one is arrived yet.
Believe it or not, I’m lucky to even be typing this- My current card has started trying to slide out of its socket on the motherboard, and maybe one in 30 attempts will get my PC to boot up, only to freeze or bluescreen without warning a few minutes later. I dare not touch my case when it’s on. I’m too scared to open the DVD-tray, and I won’t even think about plugging in any USB devices. I was actually just in the process of desperately hunting for a new GTX card online, and in the precious seconds I have before my card fails again –for what could very well be the last time- I have decided to take a massive chance and enter this competition instead. Help!

Great contest! I have a 6 y/o son who suffers from a severe ASD. Until recently, he expressed no interest in anything at all really (toys, going to the park, cartoons), just kind of off in his own little world and never excited about anything. But a few months ago i hooked our computer up to our TV to see if i could play some games since we dont have any kind of console. He was in awe! (even though everything we try and play together is very choppy and low quality). I’ve managed to upgrade to a modest processor and ram since this discovery, but the video card is still out of reach…
My best friend purchased an awesome new gaming rig when Battlefield 3 came out and for the past year he’s been telling me how amazing the game is and how amazing he is at playing it. I need this card to prove him wrong.

I have a multimedia PC which excels at everything but HD gaming. My research into new graphics cards actually lead me to the GeForce 660 Ti as the best card for my budget. If I won this card however, I could spend that budget on an SSD.

I have just recently built a new computer composed of an i7-3770 on an AsRock Z77 housed in a NZXT Guardian 921 RB. I’ve decided to settle with either a GTX 550 Ti or 560 Ti.
I believe if I go for a 560 Ti then I can happily have a slightly more bloated ego about how much better my computer runs graphics on the very highest game settings.
Also the Anisotropic Filtering with the 560 Ti will probably do a very good job at fooling my eyes into believing that I’m looking 400 meters away into the hills or 5 KM away down a sniper scope when in fact I’m still looking at a flat screen 90 CM away.
Please award me the 660 Ti so I don’t feel like a second rate gamer because the pixels on my screen don’t look more realistic than the really real things.
I am going to build a new computer (I have a post on the forums about the parts) but I only have enough money for a single graphics card (Which means I will have to buy the 2nd later).
I am most likely going to get the exact same Gigabyte GPU for my first graphics card then the one you have here. If I win this card I will gain the 2nd GPU that would otherwise take me months or even years to acomplish.

Having moved into my girlfriends parents (Yes the in-laws.. ) place near on 12 months ago to save money for our own house I haven’t had the room to setup a desk, let alone my aging gaming rig. The light is now at the end of the tunnel as we move into our new place in around 4 weeks, part of which includes a study to game in again woohoo! The only problem left will be my aging rig and its main issue – the video card. Please help me game on something worthy of smashing noobs once again, I long for it but frags just aren’t as pleasing at 10 frames per second..
Help me Gigabyte, my old card is choking to death from all the dust. A new card would be a lifesaver!
A couple of months ago I got a new case to help with cooling, pretty little vent at the top of the case and an additional fan. Unfortunately while chasing my dog across my room I tripped on my headset cable and sent a glass of Scotch into the new vent. My current GTX 550 is now giving it’s final fluid death crys :(

Sorry .. easy enough mistake to make when for the past few weeks my budhet has had it’s eye on the GTX 500 series and the reward for this comp is a 660 Ti :P
I really do need a new graphics card as I am currently planning a massive upgrade for my PC which is long overdue. Currently my PC is struggling to play some of the older and less demanding games so an upgrade is surely needed before I can even think about playing any new release or future release games.
After a few weeks of researching a number of products to buy as a part of this upgrade a new GTX 660ti was one of the front runners in my mind when it came to performance and cost. Reviews can’t speak highly enough for this card and it would be put to some good use if I was chosen to be the proud owner of this great product.

I’ve built myself a pc with an asrock z77 extreme4 MB and an i5 3570k cpu cooled by a cooler master tx3 evo (push/pull config.) and 16 gb of ram. I’ve managed to play mw3 and black ops without a graphic card but its not all that great. I’m a bit strapped for the moment so winning one of these would be absolutely amasing considering that I probably wouldn’t be able to afford the gtx 660ti anytime soon. My computer is so crap that loading google takes me 10 minutes. If I got the GTX 660, I would treat it like a pastry chef. I will never dessert it. I’m never going to give it up, never going to let it down. If I won the GTX 660, it would be like an emotional wedding because even the cake was in tiers. I swear! I won’t treat it like a tennis player, LOVE actually means something to me. If I was a baker, I would loaf the GTX 660 and tell it how much I knead it. It’s the yeast I can do if I won. I want to spend, time ’til it ends, I want to fall in love with GTX 660.
Noise levels sounds awesome.. my existing card whines like a jet engine on take off.

My best friend Sam’s laptop has recently been fried, so now he’s working his ass off to build himself a new at least half decent PC. He’s never had a PC any more powerful than a toothpick before, so I think he’d be more grateful than anyone else here.He’s always been there for me so least I could do is try and win him a graphics card. :)
Well, I’m running 2xGTX570′s – but on 3×24″ screens. That’s about adequate for most things. So one would say I don’t need it.
However, when beauties like borderlands 2 coming out, I’ll need physics…and this is where a third card comes into the picture, and fits very nicely, too ;)

My girlfriends computer currently has an aging XFX Radeon HD4870 card, that is beginning to show its age. The Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 Ti would be a great improvement over the HD4870, and would be better suited for her games and photo editing.
Whilst helping me run BF3 and other games beatifully. A better video card will help generate some heat in my gaming room for those cold nights i spend playing that should be spent in bed with my wife.
As someone who is currently using on board video due to to my HD 5670 kicking the bucket it would be nice to finally play my games as they were intended. Id say that my on board video card would be comparable to a 86 Ford Laser and my 5670 a V6 Commodore. I think id like a Ferrari instead :)
I feel sorry for my ECS 9600GT thats currently handling all the graphical duties of my PC. It isnt a pleasant experience when I play Battlefield 3 and Mass Effect 3 with this card having to lower the graphics quality and even resolution. Tho my i3 2100 is up to the duties, I doubt that my trusty, old 9600GT will be up to anything in a few months time with all the graphical intense games releasing soon. This competition will certainly iron out any problems I have with running the upcoming games Ill be playing plus more bells and whistles.
Whilst I still believe there is hope out there, there is still slim to nil chance of finding it when you find yourself trying to call for reinforcements during a barrage of missiles and armor piercing bullets and your lagging so hard your once “good” graphics card isn’t so good anymore and your graphics card slowly starts melting away causing the drivers to fail you all the way back to the desktop, then you die a little inside. Not because you have died in game but because you can’t change the inevitable outcome… How ever, the Gigabyte 660 Ti “can” change the outcome.
My old geForce 9400GT has served well but now i think it’s time my computer meets the new generation of games and render them as they are supposed to be. The GeForce GTX 660 Ti would give another life to my PC and probably make my PS3 jealous ! :P

hey im in australia and i just had to rebuild the pc because it was on its way out. i could only afford a gigabyte 550ti but am currently saving to buy one in the 600 series to be able to run battlefield 3 and borderlands 2 properly when it comes out. would love to be able to get an awesome card and put the money elsewhere such as a psu.. as i dont think a 500 watts will power a 660 or even has enough connections..cheers guys.

Lads I am currently gaming on a MACBOOK AIR that chokes on COMMANDER KEEN. What am I thinking?! My first gaming rig is almost done, all I need is a PSU and video card. No case!! Currently I actually do not have a working computer (writing this on my work computer before my shift). my old Nvidia Geforce 285 GTX died 2 months ago and due to a baby on the way at home. It won’t be getting replaced any time soon. I would love to get a 660Ti. Thanks Gigabyte. Good Luck everyone.
I’d really love to be able to upgrade my monitor from the old 4:3 ratio screen to a nice new 16:9 monitor. Sure I might just be able to afford the monitor, but then I wouldn’t be playing games on it because my old graphics card wouldn’t be able to handle it. A 660Ti would do wonders in this realm.
I could also then donate my old card to a mate who had the same card burn out on him, allowing him to once again play some games at least. It’s killing two birds(enemy soldiers?) with one stone(bullet once up and playing again).
I had recently upgraded my hardware for my home machine but unfortunately ran out of funds to continue with the upgrade. I have always trusted by old nVidia 880GT card and to date it still runs a majority of my games without much of a fuss. I would love to have a new GPU so that I am able to finally have a card that can show me all that I am missing in my gaming. I don’t have that much time with games these days (see what happens when you have kids) so when I do get the time, I want to totally immersive myself in my gameplay and this card would go along way to accomplishing that and taking my game playing to the next level.
Because I believe I have more chance winning this card than getting a girlfriend.
I need this card, my current vid card has recently stopped working and i have had to fall back to the onboard graphics on my motherboard.ONBOARD GRAPHICS!!! This has seriously curtailed my game playing motivation and i have actually been spending more time with the wife… please help me reverse this trend (there is only so much “farmer wants a wife” viewing that i can take).

I love gaming, I love Battlefield 3, but I do not love the feeling I get when I launch into Caspian Border at 1024×768 on low settings because my poor old 9600GT can’t handle it. The game is jerky, unresponsive and It makes me want to scratch my eyes out with a fork, take all my clothes off, curl into the foetal position and scream. On the other hand, if I had a 660Ti my life would be filled with fluffy bunnies, cotton candy, and unicorns.

I would be a worthy owner of this card as my first computer’s video card (An Asus GTX 550 Ti) Is about to die from being faulty manufactured, and getting it replaced would take up to 46 weeks, and I cannot get another new card with my budget because of uni expenses ~_~
I promise that if I win this card I will only use its powers for good, not evil like everyone else.
For example:
I would finally be able to play GTA4 on my aging computer, however I would not steal cars, I would merely be borrowing them – and mostly for the purposes of speeding to a burning orphanage to rescue to the children, or for speeding a pregnant mother to a hospital.

The card I only got last year is bent and struggling, the cables snapped, CPU in trouble and the cost – too much after a move. I managed to get some of it working again to save files, but sadly it will need to be resurrected again and a brand spanking new graphics is a small step to bringing Frankenstein ALIVE
So a few months ago I shifted to a 27” 1440p screen (Korean cheapie) and apparently my 560ti has not been happy about the additional stress all of those extra pixels have created. Battle Field 3 for me is similar to Whimsyshire with bright colors and random shapes galore.
Under clocking my 560Ti saved me briefly however one of the fans on my card spins very noticeably slower than the other, artifacts returned and warranty is no longer an option. Without a new card the future of my gaming does not look good :( I don’t own any consoles (or even a tv) and I just moved states/set up a new apartment/signed a lease so the financials are far from flexible.
For the sake of my eyes and gaming without a risk of seizure brought on by rainbows in games I beg for a 660ti.
I made a terrible mistake! The other day I tried increasing my resolution above 320×200 to see what all the fuss was about. I managed to get my Voodoo 2 rendering at 640×480 and hitting a cool 7 frames per second, which is playable to me. Then I though “what the hell” and boosted the resolution up to 2560×1600 to see what would happen. The start screen of the game was only giving me 0.02 frames per second, and then when the actual level loaded it broke through the zero fps barrier and started rendering in NEGATIVE FRAMES PER SECOND! Time is now flowing backwards for my computer! It’s unwriting all my essays and unlodging all my tax returns, I can only imagine what space-time catastrophe is going to occur when it finally gets back to the time before the computer existed. Help! I need a new card NOW!
My current card is slightly damaged and crashes my PC… but only when I’m winning.
I am currently writing from my girlfriends Macbook, yes it is a sad state of affairs. My 5 year old rig Bethany; yes I gave my computer a name, passed away last week. The signs had been around for a while; she became slower than usual, in the last week her processing power was cut in half for no reason at all. I had kept her clean and shiny, fixed her fans a few times, replaced her faulty power source. Her power cord was loose but as long as you were gentle with her it was never an issue. Her Radeon HD 5850 dress was one of her newer additions, but even it had been struggling to keep her up to date with a modern look.
A new graphics card would be unbelievably helpful as I try to build again, something young and pretty to ease the pain.
Since being a uni student I have experienced a lot of stress and pain with assignments, study and exams. To overcome this my friend and I would boot up our old Pentium 4 computers with 512 MB of RAM and play a quick game of Footman Frenzy (a Warcraft 3 multilayer map).
But now my friends have upgraded to much more powerful beasts which can run games on triple monitors :( and now i am left with an old dusty P4 which makes weird noises when playing CS 1.6 at max settings lol
Getting a GTX 660 Ti would definitely give me inspiration to throw out my piece of junk and upgrade to a beast of a PC.

I work as an indie games developer and I play games on my PC both because it’s what I truly love doing, but also to keep updated on what’s new. Right now my graphics card is definately my biggest bottleneck and I haven’t been able to run new games for a while. I knew I wouldn’t have the biggest salary as a game developer, but as long as I can keep making games on workdays and play the games I love on weekends, I will be happy forever :)

My PSU fan chugs to a plastic-clattering halt in a never ending loop of stop starting noise, racking like a smoker’s lungs as they cough away their cancer-ridden lungs.
This is the sound I am graced with every time I game. My headphones shut out the worst of it, but my household complains. Even though it is my PSU, I feel no need to immediately upgrade, you see, I am cheap. It powers my PC still, thankfully my humble ATI 7750 does not put much strain on my PSU.
No doubt a more beefy video card would encourage me to finally buy that new PSU my family so desperately desires (I can live with the noise), and also allow me to play all the new games in shiney brilliance.

As a school child with no money and big dreams of being able to play any sort of game. I am stuck with a dual core with inbuilt graphics. My gaming library consists of the binding of isaac and even that lags. I have a sad day when I try and game. I think I am in desperate need of this card because with over 100 games on my steam account and about 30+ of those are really graphically demanding I feel like I need an upgrade from my GT 220 which was great but is now greatly outdated. Soon some amazing games will be coming out and I wont even be able to play them because I don’t meet the minimum requirements.

I am using my iphone 3GS to enter this as my current graphics card cannot even display websites without issues…evidently I DO need a massive, grunty machine to surf the web and read email. The 660 Ti will be a step in the right direction for my upgrade

I’m in desperate need of an upgrade. My GTX 550 Ti is about to give in, and sooner or later I’m going to need something that can play Arma 3 and the 100s of other demanding games that I own at maxed settings.
I’m studying film at uni right now, and having just shot my first film (7 minute zombie flick), I need to get down to editing. Problem is, my GPU sucks pretty bad, and I already need to get new RAM, BD burner, and PSU, so buying a new card is a pipe dream at the moment.
I know it sounds pretty whiny, but it would be an enormous help to me, and I’ll even send you a copy of of my film in HD when it’s completed!

Growing up we played 2 player games all the time from consoles (atari, megadrive, n64 and onwards)
to PC games.
I’ve moved out of home for a while now, so we like to play PC games over the ‘net together, but his hardware is severely lacking..
His weird graphics card hates shadows – which glitches out games. It often crashes and has very little support for such an old card.
He built his computer with what he saved up, and I feel bad for him because it’s supposed to be a great experience slowly building up your computer for the first time. His has been a nightmare all thanks to his crappy graphics card!

Because I’m using a broken 8800gtx, I had to bake it in the oven at 180c for 10 minutes to get it to work, the card often overheats due to poor design, almost unuseable. My video card is the current letdown of my system, which is old in it’s self. (socket 750, 4gb memory)
Unfortunately I’m going to have to add to the pile of uni students wanting this card. At the moment the oldest piece of hardware in my PC is a GTS 260. It’s out-dated as hell and can barely run any of the new releases. Now, I’m studying Journalism and it requires a fair amount of video and photo editing at the moment. The card keeps crashing so I keep losing all of my work. And to be honest, I’d love to be able to run Borderlands 2 with everything maxed out. :D
after donatining my old pc to the kids down the street the 6 of them with no father and they now use this old machine for there only entertainment as they have no tv they used to play with siryngs and broken beer bottles and just create havok in the area there poor mother cryed when i handed them my old daul core and 2600xt powered machine . ive never seen them so happy smiles all round shareing like never b4 . my qeust now is too finish off my build i have just about evrything execpt for a worthy video card but its hard to find the spare money while helping out at the local homeless shelter cause i tend to donate alot of my spare cash to tjhose guy .. it would be a dream come true to recive this gift .

As someone who has just built a brand new, top of the line rig, most would say that I don’t deserve this, but in my wisdom, I DIDN’T BUDGET ANY MONEY FOR A GRAPHICS CARD.
Please, I need this just so I can end the humiliation and taunting when I have to explain that my 2000-dollar custom-built gaming rig uses… *shudder* Innnnnntel on-chip graphics!
Honestly? I don’t need it. I don’t need it and I don’t have a fancy poem, sad story or lengthy pity-plea as to why I do.
I run games on my 4850 and it does OK. But there’s something about being a gamer that means OK doesn’t cut it. OK passes the time. OK is what we settle for when our ambitions outstrip our wallets. But OK is not what we dream for. We dream for the kind of experience that only a card GPU like this one can provide.
So, no, I don’t need this. But I dare to dream that some day such a thing could be mine. I dare to dream that you could bring about that day, however fickle, naive and unlikely that dream may be.
My love of gaming comes second only to my partner, unfortunately trying to get those first big steps in life and attempting to support my first love while she is studying is meaning my second love is falling a long way behind. The sad thing is I’ve got a few great games that I could spend hundreds of hours on still that would take up some of the time I’d need help filling on such a low budget!
My faithful rig has served me many years now, but is starting to have a few issues and soon will need replacing. This card would help so much towards part of a replacement, at this stage it would look like the one thing that got a replacement rig over the budget line.
My story isn’t creative like some of the guys on here already, good work all – loving just reading the posts, the card is definitely going to go to someone deserving. If it does come here though, it would certainly not go unappreciated and keep this struggling sop – in the game.
To sum it up: my rig is reaching end of life. I’ve had to install a new operating system two or three times in the last month, because my hard disk is failing – and since all the components this is built with are rated for roughly the same MTBF, the hard drive is only the beginning. The fan on my current graphics card doesn’t even work! Being a high school student, this is unlikely to change in the near future.
My current card in this system is a nvidia GT240 DDR3. A GTX660 Ti would be a very nice improvement indeed!

When I can afford to, I would like to build myself a new, but modest, machine and give my current one to a friend. He comes from a far less fortunate family than most, which is something I sympathise with. I’ve been the kid who watches everyone else have nice things while stuck in an economic rutt that you lack the means to do anything about and I hate to watch others suffer the same. Now that I’m older, I want to at least try to brighten someone’s life with generosity that would have brightened mine. This card would go a huge way toward making this happen without putting myself in danger of not eating. Who more deserving of a gift like your contest prize than one who intends to pay it forward?
Hello, I’ve had my current graphics card (Nvidia GeForce GT 220) for a LONG time now and an upgrade to a current generation graphics card would be the greatest. It would make playing current generation games like Battlefield 3 and Borderlands 2 much easier (currently playing low presets with 30fps give or take) with my friends who all have high-end PCs. I am currently a student right now and don’t have enough money to spare to buy new graphics cards, CPU’s, etc.

My cousin is young and at the time in every gamers life where you either choose PC gaming or console gaming for your main source of games. He loves PC but he is running a GTX420 so without this card I fear that he could become a console fanboy as it has better graphics.
I’d do it myself, but unfortunately I don’t have the cash, I have an old case and a decent power supply from my last PC he can use and showing him how awesome PC upgrades are would instantly win him over. All I need is that card.

My fan is making the buzzing sound like its hitting something every so often my computer freezes when I’ve been on it for only like 2hrs and it usually crashed in the middle of YouTube videos and the only games that work are like half-life, cry of fear on the lowest graphic settings and i even have to play Minecraft on the closest fog settings and my computer rates 2/10 on this computer rating site :( (I need something better).
I have a computer which is, well, relatively old. I really need to do something, anything at all to either upgrade it or buy a new one. My family is having major money issues so I can not buy anything. I have been searching for competitions and giveaways for computer parts the past year now, but most have failed me (I end up getting a new processor and hdd through 2 of the giveaways).
I just hope this would be a chance for me to complete it with a good GPU, despite my family’s money issues.
Every single one of my friends brag on about their graphics card at work, saying how much better it is compared to mine. The last time I upgraded my graphics card was back in 2008 or 2009. It would be extremely cool to shove this in their face and say “who’s got the better graphics card now?”. Apart from that it would also be neat to play games without be aggravated about issues related to lagging.
Every morning (like most of us) I turn my computer on. However uncommonly; I need to turn my two small portable fans pointing towards my open case on, to ensure my HD 5850 doesn’t overheat. It gets to the point where mini-freezes whilst playing Battlefield 3 and CS:GO induce me into a wild huffing and blowing frenzy towards my rig to stop it from blue screening. Just imagine that time you caught a fish and it’s face right before you take it off the hook; that’s me when the Helo hits a destructable building on wake island v2. So for the love of sweet, sharp pixels and defined shadows. Help a gamer out! Love Jords.
I live on the Gold Coast and it’s about to be summer where days have 99% humidity. My roommates and I can’t afford air-conditioning, so if I win this I”ll be using it as a pseudo-aircon. Don’t let 3 students be without air conditioning, GoN.
I am in desperate need of an upgrade. I’ve been trying to play the latest games on my GT 220. It isn’t exactly working out. I have been unable to support my old BF2 team in the new BF3. I can barely even support my CS team in CS:GO. My team is losing games without me. I am in dire need of an upgrade.
Current gpu is a NVIDIA GT 240, which is a pathetic card and can only run the latest modern games on low to medium. With this new card I can run my favourite games such as tf2, l4d 2 and cs go on max.
I need it for a friend who is running some old Dell thing, coughing and spluttering through DOTA2 with a Geforce 210GT. Any upgrades he’s done have been purely to keep the old girl running. He still has a 19″ CRT from the late 90s, though he’s since migrated his computer to a borrowed plasma TV, which is not so good for the screen burn.
He’s been telling me for years how he’s going to upgrade when he’s out of debt and finally has money, but while he’s mostly been a good boy, the odd bit of bad luck sets him back a lot on his savings.
We hardly play together any more because his machine struggles with Skype. I mean it’s all well and good to have a machine that can run games, but it’s harder to enjoy them if they still make your friends’ computers explode.
My rig is in desperate need of an upgrade, currently I run a nothing GPU. With Black Mesa out and much more soon to release I am going to need much more than the onboard to have a good experience. I have been saving up for this card in particular however as I am currently jobless it will take me a long while before I will be able to get it.
I need a 660Ti so I have a motivation to game again, there hasn’t been a new graphics card in my machine since the Riva TNT2 16mb.

Imagine if you compressed dead creature-matter into a blender, set it to “Smoothie” and froze the dead smoothie into a cast that resembles a video card. You’d then have an exact replica of my godforsaken ATI Radeon video card. On an Intel i5 that someone gave to me as a gift. That’s right.
I need this because my processor will soon go on strike if he has to work alongside something that my grandparents could say “Oh, remember that old ATI Radeon? Those were the days…” about.
Basically I have a GeForce 6600 LE from 2005 with a 12cm case fan Macgyved to it, had to rip off stock fan years back because it started sound like it was a high speed blender, also lots of graphic glitches due to excessive overclocking.
Hello, am college student, my major’s games programming. But unfortunately, my computer’s really old(about 4 years). Rendering in DX9 right now take almost forever and my GPU’s not cable of rendering in DX11. Every times i turn on the computer the GPU’s fan sound really weird, like it’s hitting a small pieces of paper…. and it’s unable to run some games like BF3. That’s why i desperately a new GPU for rendering models and experience new games. I really want to experience new things, absorb new ideas for my career. Can u guys help me??
Building my first PC having decided to replace my six year old MacBook Pro, never had a DX10 capable graphics card before, been stuck with my ATI x1600 mobility, which has seen better days. Overclocking can only take you so far before heat becomes a real issue on a laptop, hitting 90 degrees is very common these days and the library for new game releases is getting smaller and smaller. Budget for a new graphics card is limited due to the need to buy everything including a good monitor and case, a Nvidia 660ti will go a long way into helping with the budget.
Well id simply love a cutting edge graphics card to view this cutting edge web site :) my machines pretty bah humbug spec. I can terminate monsters in doom with extreme prejudice, but anything more challenging id need this beautiful prize for.

When I bought my computer, it had one of the first, if not the first mobo’s to have a PCI-E slot. I remember the salesman advising me not to buy it, because the technology is so new, it could fail to become the standard. Yes, it’s old!

Every time I walk into my room, I notice that old motherboard lying unused, gathering dust in the corner… Decked out with a terrifying Q6600 and a monster 3GB DDR2 ram, it powered through everything that tried going against it, except for maybe Internet Explorer.

With a woosh and a bam, they abducted the graphics card, and only the graphics card, from the mobo. With a screech, the 5770 toppled stacks of frozen yogurt and leftover pizza cartons, until finally reaching the window, from which it proceeded to smash the glass to bits.
Agasp, I watched as it flew to the mothership unworried of the protuding glass.
It was only until 4AM the next day that I came to my senses, and screamed the living daylights out of the neighbourhood.
Turns out it was a dream, guys! It was a dream, right!?
The case is grimy black. The front panel long gone, as is the side, torn off to accommodate a box fan when Fallout 3 turned the GPU to molten steel.
A thin layer of dust covers everything, kicked up by the fan and circulated. Numerous cables sprawl in all directions – as though this computer was grown, like a tangled and noxious weed.
The monitor side buttons have long since disappeared, an old teaspoon the only relic that can command the cranky BenQ monitor to begrudgingly adjust it’s settings. It’s HDMI port perished years ago in an unfortunate incident bitterly recalled as “stupid Wednesday”.
What horrible will could keep this undead black monolith going? A gamer, grizzled and filthy, tweaking .INI and driver to coax precious frames from the rumbling heap. Digital alchemist. Uber nerd. Mechanomancer.

I would like to get this graphic card as a present for my graduation since my parents wont let me buy a better graphics card for my poor computer. Hey there, I recently did an upgrade of my mobo and memory; but, as I was on a budget at the time, I decided to spend the extra cash on a slightly better board and keep using my HD5770. Of course, as Murphy’s Law would have it, a couple of weeks afterwards your Games.on.net article on the system specs of ‘Need for Speed : Most Wanted’ comes out, stating that the minimum requirement is a Radeon 7500 >:[ So, looks like I’ll be needing a serious card upgrade! And I haven’t run an Nvidia card in a while, so it’d be interesting to see how they’re doing these days…. Cheers!
An old white macbook is my primary computer and gaming machine. I’ve got a lot of games that I’ve bought on sale and have yet to play on steam! A GTX 660 Ti would be an absolutely perfect opportunity to build my first gaming computer and enjoy games as they were meant to be played – in high detail and lag free!
This is on behalf of my little brother. My little brother’s PC recently burnt out and me and dad have been scrounging cash to try to get him a gaming computer, but since we are short we cant upgrade his graphics card, leaving him with my backup 450. He has currently been without games for a week which is quite an achievement for a kid with autism. It would be greatly appreciated if we were chosen to receive this graphics card.

I had the great idea to buy an onboard video card 6 years ago thinking that I would eventually upgrade…. I never did.
I still have the HD4200 onboard video card that I put up with.
As a freebie, I got given a HD3450 so I could have the OPTION of adding a second monitor, as performance wise it’s about the same, and Hybrid Crossfire was fun for about 5 minutes until I realised that was last last decade technology.
Unfortunately, the “freebie” card can’t even handle Skype calls, after an hour I start getting artifacts and the graphics driver starts resetting…..
I went with an XBOX 360 when they first came out because it had better stats than any computer… and unfortunately it’s still much better than this thing.
Just because my GTX460 is on its 5th faulty RMA and I’m currently so bored in the evenings that i spend all my time helping people buy the right parts for their new PC’s. Which i can’t afford. Kinda pathetic lol. Would be nice to play the newer games and review them for people!
I own a $5500 paperweight, called a Dell gaming notebook. In the 5 years of faithful service she gave me, ‘ol red burned her way through 2 graphics cards, a screen, a keyboard and most of a hard drive. Dell’s service plan was great for the first three years but through the latter stages of uni, she was living on borrowed time.
But one winter morning, 4x anti-aliasing proved too much for the old gal and some vital fragment of silicone that Dell no longer make or even care to identify, was nuked into smokey, grey-blue oblivion.
Now days, all she’ll show me is an alarming bouquet of exclamation marks where the bios should be, accompanied by a porcine demon-cry of squealing fan bearings.
With Borderlands 2 just hours away, ol’ Red’s never been missed more than now but her days of whipping air into a frenzied torrent of scalding-hot exhaust are over.
I’m going to be concise here for simplicity.
1. I’ve never won a tech competition before.
2. My PC is 4.5 years old.
3. I’m a uni bum with minute money. 1st world problems. I know.
4. I’ve recently purchased Guild Wars 2, and need a kick-ass GPU like this one.

Alright. I’m not gonna lie… My computer’s pretty beast mode at the moment considering I just created her about 4 weeks ago. I actually have this same card, just from Galaxy and not Gigabyte but they’re both the same, honestly. Amazing card, I should say. Anyone who wins this is one lucky bastard for sure. Though, I don’t want it so I could SLI my PC(don’t have the PSU for such power). What I really want it for is so I could give it to my friend. She’s had the absolute worse luck with PC parts lately on account of crappy luck and faulty parts. The only thing she’s missing now to complete her masterpiece is a GPU. So, yeah. i use the graphics inside the i5 processor, and thats to bad to play a game whit some decent fps. Help me to get the gaming going again whit some nice FPS.
I don’t own a graphics card in my PC. Currently I have a couple of exercise bikes hooked up to the motherboard’s PCI-e slot. Everytime I want to play a game I make my kids jump on the bikes and start peddling. Crysis 2 was good, but those 8 hour sessions I was pulling on it nearly killed my kids. I figure I should get a graphics card at some point, especially now that my kids’ legs are starting to look horrendously out of proportion.
Every time I turn on my pc, I get a huge grating buzzing sound. After a lot of careful and expertly technical isolation (ie, holding my ear to various areas inside the case), I’ve confirmed that one, or both of my video card fans are unhappy. Because of this, I’ve been scared to play anything more demanding than LoL and (sob) WoW. Please help me get back to shooting people!

LOL All those sad sob stories… I will add to the list…. Currently I still have a Sapphire radeon HD4870X2 in my PC…. Cost me $700AUD+ ages ago…. Now I own a very furry black cat (My Luck but I love her LOL)… So this card ingested cat fur and the ventilation choked on the card… So now I have random fails with the card… Will add I removed about 40 very small screws to access and remove all catfur and noted scorch marks on the second GPU… I need update card LOL and the cat survived the problem despite my anger…

You have no idea how lucky I am to have found this site/competition. About a month ago I built my new gaming rig but the Radeon HD 6990 graphics card I ordered was faulty. So I tried getting it replaced from the site I bought it from and AMD themselves but they said that is was my fault the graphics card was broken. I was furious all that money I spent on the graphics card itself let alone the other parts. So I had to use the graphics card from my old PC and I was so exited to play guild wars 2 but I’m playing it on the lowest settings and the Resolution of 1280×1024 which I’m so upset about when I wish I could experience the game to its full potential. Theirs so many games I wish I could play but I can’t due to this problem, I’m missing out on Day Z, Black Mesa and upcoming Borderlands 2. Now you probably ask why don’t I just buy a new graphics card well I worked at McDonald’s for 2 years saving money just to buy an amazing computer and when I bought the PC I quit because it was the worst job in the world, so now I have no money to purchase a new graphics card.

This story is not one of technological hardship but of a psychological burden that follows me even to this day.
My most recent video upgrade came in the form of a 6850 Twin Frozr II, promising to fulfil the dream of a silent, yet powerful gaming PC. After installing the card in its place of honour, carefully tuning the speeds of the fans and adjusting the clock speeds my dream was complete. However, it was not to be. While adjusting the position of the 6-pin power cables my right pointer found its way into the mighty Twin Frozr blades. The fan came to a complete stop, that is, besides the fan blade that ricocheted from my finger taking a small but inconvenient chunk of my fingernail with it. Each time I jab my finger or hear the unbalanced whirr of a game starting it reminds me of a paradise lost.
i currently own an aMD ATI 6950 HD 2gb graphics card, and looking for something a bit better, i been a gamer since 2004 and i never say NO to awesome new technology.

I’m still using a GTX280.
Computers have been my passion since I was old enough to talk. From when I would watch my dad working on his Apple IIGS, to when I made my first modified physics and maps for Marathon 2 (a precursor to Halo), to the current day where my passion for computers has had to take a back seat to my passion for my fiancee. I knew who I wanted to marry and I’m lucky she said yes, but the engagement ring, paperwork (she’s German, I’m American), and wedding are bleeding me alive. My time in the digital world is my only sanctuary. I loved the world of Pandora that I explored in Borderlands and have been waiting eagerly to play the sequel, but my current graphics card just won’t cut it. Please, help me and my betrothed, this is the only way I can justify having this graphics card. Game over.
Of recent times, my girlfriend and I have not spent a whole lot of time together as she likes to sit with our daughter and crochet, and I like to play my PC. I showed her a few of the Borderlands 2 trailers, and she said “Aww, that looks fun, I wish I had a better card in my computer so we could play together!”. My girlfriend has everything but a GPU to make this happen, so if we had this beautiful card my girlfriend and I will go back to spending quality time together and you may just save a family.

Last Semester I burnt my medium end graphics card out during the creation of a 3D scene in Autodesk Maya. I now have a low end graphics card and I am constantly waiting for the computer to catch up every 5 seconds while using graphics applications. I need this graphics card to keep producing my work!

It’s been years now … PC has gotten worse and is looking terrible. Every time I talk to him, he sounds like hell. He can’t handle the things I tell him to do; he breaks down continuously from the momentous visuals he is forced to generate on-demand.
I woke up last night in shock to hear him crying out my name from being idle for too long. I caress and clean him regularly, but he just can’t cope with the tasks loaded upon him.
I honestly fear the worst for PC. He’s grown tenuous and is inevitably going to fade without a fight. He needs an upgrade and fighting chance, and a GTX 660 Ti will be the caffeine to his coffee.
I get 3 FPS on wow. That is all.
If I win, I’m going to have to buy a whole new motherboard, since my current one doesn’t have slots for a video card, and with that a new processor since my current one just so happens to be soldered into the motherboard. Hooray for technology.
GAME ON GIGABYTE……….what a card and what great specs! I have for some time been dragging my feet with an older Gigabyte card and missing out on some of the more defining moments a card like this one can deliver.
With a new PC build currently on the way, (old PC is about to fall over, literally!!! ) and Money for PC goodies tight, this card is the ideal gaming card for my balance of both fast and reliable graphics and is a seamless system match.

Three months ago my computers graphics card started crashing. At first it was only crashing once a day, I figured out that could Alt+Ctrl+Del for the card to start responding again, and so I could save my work and safely shut down my computer. Although as of late has been happening more and more frequently, average of four times a day. I can’t get any work done for school (or if I do it’s in blocks of work in-between crashes). I don’t even bother with I Tunes visualizer, YouTube, Photoshop or games anymore. Sometimes even Windows 7 Aero overloads it every now and then, Windows 7 basic doesn’t even help much ether. I have installed various updates, tried may fixes e.g. lowering resolution and refresh rate. Thank goodness this competition came around, I had almost given up hope of ever have a proper working computer.
If I am successful adopting this card, I promise to treat it as I would my own.
I would feed it appropriately with industrial-grade filtered power and an uncompromising PSU.
I would be proud watching it excel at everything it ever attempts. Whatever it does, pilot a jet, race cars, soldier, strategize… no power could stop it. (A lack of power might)
I offer it a secure and stable environment and after time, possibly when Arma3 comes out, I might get it a brother or sister – so it’s not lonely of course.
My current graphics card is so weak, other computers kick sand in it’s face.
It’s well past time for an upgrade, but it’s so very hard to convince my non-gaming girlfriend of the fact.

Being on a pension has really begun to cramp my gaming style. Would love to graduate up from stop motion visuals to playable frame rates again.
I am currently attempting to play ARMA 2 and DayZ on a Vista Home Basic Pentium 4 with 1GB of DDR2 and a ATI (!) X1300, and I wouldn’t mind getting framerates higher than 2 fps for games from post 2005. Obviously I intend to build a newer computer once my monetary standards exceed expectations, and so this would be a substantial improvement to my current situation.
It would also give me a higher quality environment to enjoy my vast collection of gentleman’s special interest literature. And for debating a plethora of popular subjects (such as atheism, libertarianism and conspiracy theories) over the internet against people whose range of intellect is so vast that Hitler is all too often brought into the conversation by way of Godwin’s Law.

Since early this year, around February or March, I have been running my Dell Dimension E520 desktop on nothing but the on-board integrated graphics processor unit (Intel G965 Express Chipset Family, for those of you wondering) because the GeForce 8500GT PCIe graphics card I used to use gave up the ghost. On top of that, being unemployed and nearly broke, I spent what little money I had remaining to replace both the motherboard and power supply unit in my PC when those started to fail. I could not, unfortunately, afford a new graphics card along with my other expenses.
In short: I -really- need a new graphics card, and I can’t afford one. I figured I could at least give this a shot and see what happens. It’d be nice to be able to unwind and play Minecraft or Diablo 3 with my friends. Really nice.

I just want it because its new. I’ll donate my old card to my wife. Who desperately needs it . Plus it will give me brownie points wit her :)
Why me?
I’m just finishing University and have a job lined up for February next year. This means the holidays coming up will probably be my last good chance to get some serious gaming done. Having an awesome card like the GTX 660 Ti would definitely provide a more immersive and enjoyable experience during this period of freedom before The Man gets me in his grasp.
I’m currently playing borderlands 2 with an old AMD gfx card Phyx is taunting me everytime I blow something up I know I am missing out on that sexy sexy rubble, whenever I see youtube videos of people playing with Physx enabled on high I cry man tears at the shear awesome I am missing out on.
Nvidia has done a great job with adding in new effects in gaming, Id like to have the honor of playing games with higher frames with physx enabled :D

My old card died. I gave it a good burial, but the geforce 220 which keeps its old home warm is not powerful enough to play with most of it’s old friends. As a result my poor gaming machine is good for little more then net browsing these days until i can afford a new video card (or win one).
I Did need something like a GTX650 to even the playing field in my Gaming return commenced last night. Arma2 Arrowhead DayZ to begin with and looking what else is out there Space Sci-Fi stuff….. The GTX650 is better than the GTX550Ti I bought 2days ago :) I assume with 2G of ram. I was about to buy the GTX650 but was told it needs a high power source I have 680watt. :(

So my PC died 2 months before I was going overseas to cruise around Canada. PSU died and took the mobo, CPU and GPU’s with it. With games being a necessity and all, I was kind of up the proverbial creek… Mobo & CPU were replaced with seemingly well performing budget parts. As I don’t hoard gold like an Arabic Sheikh, one of the cooked GPU’s is barely working (AKA will do the job because I have nothing to replace it with) for now.
Away I went on this… Ricky from Trailer Park Boys type of adventure. Came home with more injuries and stories than I could possibly list here.
So basically, my wallet can’t buy one. I’ve got time to kill and there’s fun to be had. The GTX 660 would remove a hideous bottleneck and allow for a proper, immersive gaming experience.
I also used exactly 150 words!
Comes to having 2 kids and a single income. Money all goes to supporting the wives shopping habit and the kids nappies more than allowing me to buy a new computer…
The last time I upgraded my computer was in 2007, my first year of University (Games Technology Major, Woo!).
This computer had done me proud all through the last 5 years, but it just doesn’t cut it anymore. Each start-up is plagued with problems (usually taking 3 or 4 attempts), not to mention it taking over 15 minutes to load up Unity 3D in one of my larger projects.
My next computer upgrade is currently scheduled for December this year. Built from the case up, it’s currently got a Radeon HD7770 in it, as it’s the best I can afford, hardly a fitting match for the Core i5 and 8GB memory.
With a 660ti, my new computer will allow me to develop some cool indie games I know you guys will love to play. :P

for this the card has CUDA core, 1344 to be exact
Its GPU Architecture is of Kepler design

I gave my video card to my little brother, and have been using an old 6600 since. Havent been able to play any games, and havent been able to afford a new card since i got laid off at work
I’ve been saving the world for a long time now, zombies, aliens… I’ve fought them all. Heck I have single handedly rescued so many people in my time, you’d think I would have some sort of medal, some sort of recognition…
Things wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t for my vision, things aren’t like they used to be, everything now days is jumpy, monsters are harder to kill and the aliens.. they simply walk around me..
I can’t keep up, sure there are augments out there that could fix things but I’m a hero, heroes don’t work 9-5 and augments aren’t free..
One day soon the world will need saving.. What happens when im not there to save it?
This would make the perfect (albeit a few days late!) birthday present for my little brother, allowing him to upgrade his aging 9600gt and actually come play games with me once again!
And with dual benefits would then give me the final piece to finish building my Girlfriend a pc out of old spare parts so she can ditch her terrible and quite broken dell laptop (she would get the 9600gt) and can finally put her minecraft and steam accounts to use and allow us to enjoy some gaming together! – been trying to get her to game with me for so long, but the most we can do is split-screen or a bit of trine 2 on my pc(which she loved). Being both students and living the rental life, we’ve been saving to buy even a crappy card but haven’t gotten there yet.

Ah to win the new Card means a safer universe. How so you ask?.. It means I would upgrade my card. My boy would get my old card upgrading his.
So when we are teamed up fighting on behalf of Mann Co. We have the speed to see the robots before they explode. When we team up on any alien/zombie/evil dictator attack we will prevail… Universe saved. Happiness all round as there is a new weapon in each machine.
I’m tired of being the only pc gamer among my friends so I’m building a secondary computer to give to my best mate. Last item on the list is a decent graphics card as all I have to give at this point is a an old 8600GT, which as many as you can guess is clearly a terrible thing to bring upon my friend in this day and age.
I’ve been slowly (quickly) enjoying (ravaging) the pleasure (addiction) that is guild wars 2. loving lots of moments, but hating some. Nothing is worse then getting up close and personal with a boss, feverishly slashing at his feet (because I’m short), and then having your pc lag to four frames a second. The beautiful fireworks that are from friendly casters become a nightmarish haze, obliterating my video card as the boss then sets on obliterating me. If only my rig could render 50 particle effects simultaneously whilst I flurry around and dodge like mad, I could be victorious!
I need a new graphics card because my machine has a problem. You see, I have a ghost in my machine.
There’s been a strange knocking noise coming from my computer for a while now. I thought it was the hard drive, but I swapped that out and it didn’t fix it. It wasn’t until I was looking at my wife one night that I saw a figure on my screen out of the corner of my eye. He was knocking on the inside of the screen, trying to get out. It’s been getting worse. I can’t even play World of Warcraft now, as he keeps moving the window.
Personally, the knocking is driving me nuts. I’m hoping a new graphics card will make him go away. So, please, can you help me out here?
We have a serious vermin problem in our roof at home, and I’ve heard the one thing they hate more than anything else is the whine of a Geforce GTX 660ti fan!
Please help me render games in the quality they deserve, while staving off infestation!
Alas, tis been nigh on five years since crytek set free it’s beast known as crysis.. Many lost the battle, cryengines folliage ran rampant in the streets. But we won, through all the bad framerates and glitching textures we prevailed.
But nay, The devil came back not but 3 years later to ravage PC’s all over.. After the first assault we stood little hope.. Our armament of GeForce 6 series cracked under the strain. We had to resort to fighting it with an xbox.
It seems that twice wouldn’t be enough.. The beast is coming to finish us off.. but lo and behold, a shining light. Surely this is the work of god, a gtx 660ti, hark on that!
Me thinks such a card would conquer this beast. By my troth, ye shall prevail..
Alas, if only said card was in my possession..
At the moment I am Graphics Cardless so all the games I would like to play I can’t :-(
If I had this 660 Ti then I would truly be grateful to GON and feel honored as it would save me up to $300, which to some people, is a lot of money.
Of course I could make some smart remark about how giving me the card will save the world or is essential to human kind or stop aliens invading earth.
However the plain truth of the matter is that I, just like everybody else, can possible live for a little longer without something horrible happening to me without the 660 Ti HOWEVER it will make life a lot more fun an enjoyable, courtesy of GON if I had one.
With that said, please consider me for this card as I do need one to continue with my gaming.
I have spent a lot of money on upgrading and its always never what i expect in speed and performance just want a fast computer and to once be able to play a game on maximum settings and say wow that’s amazing and well I know I probably wont win but I would truly and greatly appreciate it if I won this competition!
