A Guild Wars 2 player by the name of ‘pvpPROJECT’ has created a mod for the game that locks the camera to your character — as if you were constantly holding down the right mouse button — and overlays a new cross hair onto the screen, thus turning it into more of a third-person-shooter style experience. Unfortunately as we know the Guild Wars 2 EULA makes it illegal to use any mods or scripts, and indeed a thread on it has already been locked by GW2 community management. Still, interesting stuff! Sucks that you can be banned for using this mod. I wonder if the EULA prohibits creating said mods too.
Hey that’s a pretty cool mod!
without having a minion party anymore, is there any reason not to have the camera locked behind you?
a matter of taste really, some ppl simply do not like it… why there is no option to toggle them is another matter of course.
that and you can actually look behind you while moving forward and doing your action (one of the first key i rebinded), extremely useful when ur being chased and need to know how close and how many are chasing after you.
There is talk in the comments about using an xbox controller with this mod…. for the love of… >.<
oh almost forgot, it’s easier to place the AoE marker accurately with free floating cursor instead of it being tied to your avatar’s aim as well.
overall though, for most ppl and classes, the locked cursor have about as much benefit to compensate the loss.
Option should of been in there from the start.
Would of worked fine since things like missiles can be evaded with dodges etc so no real reason to be target locked
