City of Heroes petition accrues 20,000+ signatures

City of Heroes/Villains fans fighting to keep the MMORPG from closing have already managed some impressive feats. If you’d like the free-to-play effort to continue, why not consider adding your name to the 20,000 or so who have already signed a petition directed at publisher NCSoft? Or perhaps you’d like to join in a campaign posting a soulful letter inviting NCSoft representatives to play the game alongside its vociferous community? Or heck, maybe you have something extra special planned, like buying dinner for the entire Paragon Studios team, whose jobs are on the line?

City of Heroes and Paragon Studios are expected to close in November, so whatever you do, get cracking.

NCSoft sure likes to move on. I wonder how long GW1 will run now that 2 is out.

It’s rather striking to see the response this has received. I’m not sure the outcome will be 100% positive, but it’s quite cool to see how it’s turning out.

the game has been going a while, maybe if the people in the petition each put down 100$ maybe it would have more success. i assume that NC soft isnt seeing much money and they would rather take it down gracefully then wait for it to fail completely

This reminds me of all the ‘save the souths’ stuff from years ago.

They go to close the club, thousands of people show up for all the games.

They change their minds and keep the club going, and next season they’re back to 10 fans watching the games live.

If people were actually playing, and it was making money, they wouldnt be going to can it. Theyre well aware of how few fans they have who still want to play.

This isnt like futurama or family guy where it was relatively unknown on release, and built a huge fanbase after being cancelled and could then be brought back.

City of heroes has been around forever, and anyone who was going to play already has. This petition is all hot air, and they wont get any new players if they don’t cancell the game, and I’m sure NCsoft knows it.
