Overhaul Games have announced that the hotly-anticipated remake of the original Baldur’s Gate has slipped into November and will not make its initial release date of next week.

“After recently reviewing the game and then consulting with our partners, we’ve decided to ensure that Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition is the best possible product on launch,” reads the post on the official site. “Thus, we have pushed back the release date of the game. Our plan is to release in November, 2012.”

If you’ve already pre-ordered, Trent Oster has something special for you. “To all who have pre-ordered, we ask for your patience as we move toward our final release date — and we will be working on something a little extra for you. To all who have volunteered, we thank you for your dedication and support.”

I approve, I’d rather they wait and release a more polished game, than rush it out.

Oooo… I hadn’t seen details of this. I would love a remake of BG… my all time favourite game…

From what i can tell, it’s more a giant bug fix with a little new content, rather then a remake. The original source material is lost or something.
