A dream-team of Australian developers working under the label ‘League of Geeks’ have overnight pulled the wraps off their flagship product: a board/card/video game combination named Armello. Worked on over the past year in their spare time, Armello hopes to launch on various tablet devices in 2013 and tells the story of four animal clans who race to claim the crown of a corrupt and evil king.
Although there’s no word on gameplay yet, we’re told that fans of Magic: The Gathering or Settlers of Catan will enjoy the mechanics. It is described as “free to play, with an economy model based on core free-to-play games such as League of Legends” and an “expansive meta-game and vast amounts of content”.
Armello also has a debut trailer that you can check out right here.
