Sleeping Dogs to include full PC support, HD textures for PC users, all the works

Between Hitman: Absolution and Sleeping Dogs, it looks like Square Enix are taking PC gaming a lot more seriously than some of their competitors. They’ve released a video today showing off their PC features, running in 1080p, and it looks good. Really good. PC users can expect a day-one patch that includes HD textures for the whole game, as well as the ability to increase world density, HQ SSAO, SSAA, the works. Take a look at the video below, or download the 1080p version from our file library.

“The game supports Gamepad just like it’s console counterpart, but we also added mouse and keyboard controls because we know that they’re key for PC gamers”

Really? Keyboard AND Mouse support on a PC game? OMG, thank you so much! It doesn’t even sound like it was an afterthought! I’m sure the controls will be really optimised for PC!
I’m totally not even being sarcastic!

Cas Bitton:
Keyboard and Mouse Support including Key Remapping

Does that include keys like enter, pgdn, del ect. and separated numpad keys for arrow key gamers? Most ports somehow seem to miss that entire right hand section of the keyboard.

A game with real PC support? I’ll wait for reviews but heck, they have my interest and possibly money with just that.

Good that you have finally added a link to a video that is hosted on games on net, instead of youtube.
Pity that is in mov format and is over 600MB – youtube 1080p download is only like 90MB – how is that possible?

Still unimpressed with every developer thumping their chest oh so proudly for ‘supporting’ basic PC features but i’m still getting pretty keen for this game as it looks quite nice.

Our video is straight from the developer in a much higher quality audio and video format. Youtube is compressed like no tomorrow, even at 1080p.

Get’s even better when developers give us videos at 60FPS, you can absolutely notice the difference! :D

For comparison, give this a download:

It’s going to be like butter compared to this:

no TXAA support.. damn.

Cas Bitton,

Even without seeing the youtube video that was crazy smooth! (wonder what 120Hz would be like :P ) I hope 60fps is standard on next gen consoles.

exe3,

It’s awesome to get the same experience from the video as you would shortly after installing the game on a PC that’s up to the task :). Yet to see anyone release game videos at 120fps but 60 has been common for about a year now (oddly, just for shooters).
