New gameplay footage for Battlefield 3: Armored Kill fresh out of GamesCom

Here is a video full of new footage of Battlefield 3‘s upcoming Armored Kill DLC, courtesy of EA’s French division. Unfortunately a lot of the talking at the beginning is, as a result, in French. I hope that’s not too inconvenient for you! But in any case, there’s a lot of exciting new footage to look at, even if you don’t speak French. Or better yet, you could just skip to about the two-minute mark where they a) start speaking English and b) show the gameplay footage. Check it out below.

Alot more English, I cant wait to use the Artillery Tank and the gunship.
Although I wish boats and the Howitzer artillery tank made it into BFAK.
Oh they might hold them until BF4, they need to add new things to BF4 or they might go the 2142 style game for BF4.

It’s rather odd honestly that we get MLRS platform but not self propelled artillery instead.
but perhaps the most confusing part is why the US tank destroyer is the Stryker MGS since MGS is not meant to fight tanks.

HIMARS to be specific but probably because it’s more impressive firing a volley of missiles than an artillery shell. The launching effect was memorable in the early trailers.
True, the MGS is just a Stryker ‘APC’ fitted with an old 105mm cannon, intended to support infantry. Tank Destroyers are a WW2 concept so DICE can’t really use anything that’s actually designed for that role today. Perhaps they decided “stuff it, we’ll call an APC with a cannon a Tank Destroyer for simplicity”, DICE have never been particularly accurate with these things.

i don’t see why a modern 105mm cannon round wouldn’t destroy a tank, especially if it was a depleted uranium or tungsten carbide APFSDS round ;)
was standard size for a long time til they went to 120mm smoothbore cannon for the main armament for mbt’s

I didn’t say a 105 couldn’t destroy a tank, I said the MGS isn’t intended for the role of ‘Tank Destroyer’. There’s another Stryker variant (M1134 ATGMV) with TOW missiles for the Anti-Tank role.
ah fair enough, i didn’t realise that the MGS had a specific role of direct infantry fire support, and that there was an anti-tank missile variant for destroying tanks… but the concept of a main tank cannon on a wheeled apc chassis is still valid for many other armies…
