According to some super-sleuths over at the Bioware forums, there might be some more changes coming to the controversial Mass Effect 3 ending. Script information dug out of the game’s Extended Cut DLC suggest more changes and dialogue options will become available to those who have the upcoming Leviathan DLC installed.
I won’t spoil anything more than what should have been spoiled already – a certain star-like child-like AI will have most of the new lines, regarding the creation of the Reapers.

How many times do I have to replay the series just to hear new dialog lines! I’ve got about 4 saves already! I do not need another reason to beat it again!
But Biotic charging everywhere is fun. So I guess 5th time is the charm.
Ironically, it validates the ‘correct’ observation made by the critics of ME3 ending that the star child was shoe horned so badly into the ending with such limited lines (and a rather poor one at that) so near the critical and final choice of the game.
Though i fear more of what if the critics were right too about what they said only jokingly…
that the more elaborate epilogue for the races in the game that we interact would be a DLC in itself.
Terribad end to an awesome series.
The wonders of corporate gaming companies strike again.
thefinn,
Really, that sentiment has been done to death, and then the corpse was resurrected and then done to death all over again. It was a let-down to be sure, but why don’t we all stop moaning about the last five minutes of the game and see if the DLC brings something worthwhile.
thefinn,
Even if it does, I still very likely won’t bother with it.
i have wiped my computer since, so the point of playing the game again let alone the dlc defeats the purpose, create a proper ending the first time, instead of jerking customers around
Too little too late for me… I haven’t even bothered with the updated extended ending.
I’m sorry, but this is something I just cannot understand.
Yes, the original effort in the endings was sub-par. We know that, it’s been done to death, shut up about it.
The fact that they went out of their way to try and improve it (and did a vastly better job) when, strictly speaking, they didn’t have to do anything. And yet there is -still- vast amounts of self entitled vitriol being vomited every which way all at once.
matthewdev, I’d recommend at least trying it. Its a vastly better experience – at least, I found it to be so.
I for one am looking forward to Leviathan. More delving into the universe? More material for the endings? Great! Lets face facts here. Not many games out there give you reason to revisit the game once its been finished, aside from multiplayer. This game does both – and yes, they make money from it, but they continue to support it, build on it, and bring more for it out. Revel in it, don’t revile it. More games need to do something like this, not less.
Kind of frustrating when you have to wait for more and more DLC and endless replays just to enjoy the bloody game that way it was supposed to be.
Gosh I miss the golden age of gaming…
I digress though and will be trying this game as soon as my issue with Origin is resolved by the ACCC and my falsely accused account is reinstated…
The problem with all this bitching about endings is they’ll feel they have to add ending content into every DLC.
I got bored with ME3 about half way through and haven’t finished it. Felt a bit lacklustre in the rpg elements comparted to ME2
I’ve finished ME3, but haven’t played the extended ending DLC. If they keep tweaking the ending like this, I’m going to wait until all DLC has been released before playing it again.
