Modders recreate original Starcraft campaigns in Starcraft II, first batch released

A group of enterprising modders have faithfully recreated the campaigns from the original Starcraft inside Starcraft II — right down to the dialogue, briefing screens, and even the original tech trees.
The mods include those for the Brood Wars expansion as well, with the sixth campaign, Queen of Blades, is still being worked on. Still, completing five is an amazing task, and means people like me anxious to revisit the original game are in for a treat.

Wow. I haven’t finished the first Starcraft and so never bothered with Starcraft 2. The dated graphics make it a bit hard to get back into so will definitely look at this.

This is awesome… but confused as to how Battlenet lets it happen… I thought the big players hated mods?

Pretty much. I’m surprised Blizz has let it last as long as it has to be honest, I don’t expect it will be completed…
