As part of the Metal Gear franchise’s 25th anniversary celebrations, Kojima Productions is hosting a special event in Tokyo on August 30. Although nominally a celebration of the franchise’s history, the latest episode of the Kojima Report podcast teases a reveal of its future, too. Presenters made mention of “a lot of exciting announcements” and “things to look forward to”.
“Not just for fans, but I think the industry’s gonna be shook by what we’re going to be able to present here,” Kojipro’s Chris Johns said.
Studio lead and Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima has promised to give some information about his next game, mysteriously only known for a central premise of “connecting people”, and also to demonstrate the power of the new Fox Engine. The developer is rumoured to have a new Metal Gear game and possibly a Zone of the Enders sequel in the works as well as the mysterious Project Ogre. It’s not clear which if any of these projects will be the focus of tomorrow’s reveals.

No love for Kojima?
Much love for Kojima.
Kinda weird too to think that my favorite video games are almost as old as I am.
I stopped playing them when I moved away from consoles. To my knowledge (which includes zero research), there’s no MGS games on PC?
MGS 1 and 2 were released on PC.
Not sure about MGS3 or 4 though.
