I maintain that having an easily reachable level cap a la wow et al is a killer. Part of the joy (lol) of D2 was that getting to level 98-99 was an actual achievement, rather than simply getting to the level cap and then the game begins as per wow.

What's the bet that if this patch succeeds, lag is gonna increase for day time play (US Peak)?

I do hope that Blizzard provide good content via patches rather than a paid expansion. Can never go past a freebie.

Having already gone through the campaign 5 times in Normal and no desire to finish Inferno or even Hell, I really would like new quests and areas to explore. Perhaps, for those who've finished the main campaign, we get access to an ingame map of sanctuary where we can choose from a series of different sub-campaigns based on locations within sanctuary. Each one can provide a different revelation before a final quest (probably to do with what happened to the black soul stone) is unlocked.

It would also be cool if we could see each class' home city/town/village.

It would be kinda nice if people learned to move on, I suppose.

I got over a hundred hours out of D3, and don't regret a minute. Don't particularly feel the urge to log in again and play, but I don't with Skyrim either.

mugsy: I reckon this will be addressed via an expansion pack of some sort. Doubt any new content will be released via a patch. They aren’t Epic with how the Unreal Tournament series was supported…

most likely, but it's not like blizzard have never provided content in patches. LoD patches were chock full of great content. most of the real endgame was added in patches.

and yeah, they have plenty of story lines to follow.

skitzor:
the only that doesn’t seem to be addressed is the lack of the “endgame”, but this might be patch 1.1 as adding new content properly would take a significant amount of time.

I reckon this will be addressed via an expansion pack of some sort. Doubt any new content will be released via a patch. They aren't Epic with how the Unreal Tournament series was supported... well, PvP would be nice; even for those who are still down around lvl 35 it would make a nice change of pace to grinding through the campaign or trading on the auction house (despite the fact that selling a lvl 14 item for over 1 million gold is an insanely awesome feeling).

Still there are numerous plot elements that they can still expand on which would be nice to get as free expansion DLC packs from time to time:

- Hunting down Adria
- Shen's Dirgest jewel
- Malthael's disappearance mystery
- Imperius' ever growing wrath
- Kormac's templar order's betrayal
- Lyndon's (and our hero's) conflict with the thieves guild
- The fate of Eirena's remaining sisters
- Possibly the return on Inarius or Lillith (despite the later appearing as a reskinned Andariel in Diablo 2 LOD after being patched)
- What ever became of the black soul stone

good to see. the patch seems to be addressing the majority of complaints I have seen about the game. the only that doesn't seem to be addressed is the lack of the "endgame", but this might be patch 1.1 as adding new content properly would take a significant amount of time.

no doubt people will still find something to complain about.
