Borderlands to be uncut around the world

Borderlands 2

Gearbox has announced that with its release in September, Borderlands 2 will come completely uncensored, no matter where you live. The official announcement specifically mentions Australia, saying “bandits will be just as likely to explode in bloody chunks of awesomeness as they will be in Canada or England (which is to say: very likely)”, despite the fact that, reportedly, the original Borderlands received no censorship for the Australian market.

If you’re the type that is put off by a lot of violence, you’re probably playing the wrong game. But if you are, Gearbox have also said they are implementing a Gore Toggle option, so that, with the flick of a switch, all the face-melty options are turned off. Borderlands 2 releases on September 18 in the US and September 21 for the rest of the world.

WOOOO!

Hot picture.

Even Germany?!

I can’t really imagine what would need to be cut. It’s more comic book over-the-top violence rather than gritty realistic violence. Really no surprise…

So they haven’t pruned any bad bits from the game?

Sounds like it. Hopefully not pruned the Kelly-lookalike siren, in any case.
