Bethesda releases PC system requirements for Dishonored

Dishonored

Bethesda are taking pains to ensure that PC players aren’t forgotten with Dishonored, and alongside their pleasantly-large range of config options comes their new reveal on PC specs required to run the thing. They’re a somewhat modest list of demands, but it’s good to take a look at them anyway. And here they are!

Minimum Spec:

  • OS: Windows Vista / Windows 7
  • Processor: 3.0 GHz dual core or better
  • Memory: 4 GB system RAM
  • Hard Disk Space: 9 GB
  • Video Card: DirectX 9 compatible with 512 MB video RAM or better (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 / ATI Radeon HD 5850)
  • Sound: Windows compatible sound card

Recommended Spec:

  • OS: Windows Vista / Windows 7
  • Processor: 2.4 GHz quad core or better
  • Memory: 4 GB system RAM
  • Hard Disk Space: 9 GB
  • Video Card: DirectX 9 compatible with 768 MB video RAM or better (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 / ATI Radeon HD 5850)
  • Sound: Windows compatible sound card

While the specs may be modest, it does ensure a wider player base for a game, I think it is always a better thing if a game can run on modest system specs (as long as it is not to the detriment of the game on higher performing rigs out there).

Looking forward to Dishonoured, haven’t thought that about a game in a long time. I like Arkane’s work in the past so I think they will have a solid game to release… and then they can start work on Arx 2!

Just upgraded from a 5850 2 weeks ago, it wasn’t really that bad…

I’m really glad the specs are this way, like meji says it gives a much bigger install base. “Modest” isn’t the same as “bad”, namelessabc :)

The game that can do no wrong! A lot of other titles would get slaughtered for this, Dishonoured really holds a peculiar thrall over the internets.

I don’t see the need for releasing system specs as news, Since the game is using Unreal Engine 3 which has been around for years now.

I’m at a point where I’m looking forward to the day when I can’t run a game on max settings any more.

Think you’ll be waiting a while for that. I’m still running most games on a C2Q and they still run quite well… <_<
