I remember buying Special Forces for BF2, it came with 8 extra maps and 7 guns.It was $40.

BF3 Premium is $50 for 20 maps + 25 guns.

I don’t see why people have an issue with BF3 Premium.

</blockquote>

^^^^ This. Slazza has hit the nail on the head. It's $50 for almost an extra game's worth of content.

The other great thing is it's forcing people to branch out in different play-styles than they'd normally take part in. I don't normally use vehicles at all, but I'm starting to have a blast with them.

If you don't like BF3 that much then you were never going to use the DLC anyway. For those of us who love putting the time into this game the price of premium is a small one to pay for such fantastic comment. Who else is salivating at the thought of the AC-130 in a few weeks?

They're actually keeping the community together by bundling all the expansion packs at a reduced price.

Now all the DLC has a potential playerbase of over 1.2 million, plus Back to Karkand is accessible to everyone who pre-ordered or bought the Limited Edition.

Those that aren't particularly interested in Close Quarters for example are more likely to play it than if it was only available individually.

9.3 million registered users from launch June 2011 to Feb 2012.
11 million two months ago after launching Mass Effect 3, Battlefield 3 and Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Not sure what they launched in the last two months that would boost users by another 10 million registered users to 21 million? Maybe they are doubling up with the 9 million mobile users, which are now included in the financial figures?

There's an interesting looking game available on Steam - I can't remember the name of it, but it looked like a puzzle game about an alien escaping a research base. Now, one of the interesting things about it was that you could play it on Steam, but set in the terms was a part saying that you were technically buying the licence from Origin... Or something like that. I really can't remember. But I didn't buy it even though I liked the look of it, because I don't approve of the way EA is operating, and I wondered whether something like that would artificially inflate the number of supposed users Origin has.

I could be completely off base with this one, but I'll see if I can find it again and get the correct wording.
