Welcome to the new, improved, games.on.net!
It’s been a long time coming, but ten years after games.on.net was first born in a backyard Adelaide shed, we felt it was time to give the old girl a makeover. And here she is now – shiny, new, and with all the features you know and love.
We’re rocking a whole new system top to bottom, fully integrated with the forum and powered by new posting software. We’ve also got a whole new look, with a whole new logo and a vastly improved sorting and searching system, so you can find the content that you want quickly and easily.
This new site represents a joint effort by the teams at iiNet and Internode, brought together with a love of Australian community gaming. With the power of the whole iiNet group behind it, games.on.net is now the number one destination for Australian gamers. Stay tuned over the next few days as we roll out continual improvements, turn on new features, and generally cross our fingers to make sure nothing has broken horribly.
Thanks for coming with us on this journey!

Absolutely brilliant! :D
Very nice!
Looking hawt!
Lookin’ good. I’m seeing a few layout issues though; hoping those will be ironed out soon.
Woooooooooh dear, my username is broken.
Yuck, what was wrong with the old site layout. So much more difficult to locate forums!
looking sexy
Looks interesting :D
Needs more dark.
Also wide.
Winner!
whoa, looks cool. just really thin!
um, where are the forums?
Lookin pretty shmexy. I like it.
What a sexy overhaul!
Couldn’t find how to edit my post, so anyway. Missing the recent posts / files / popular news on the right. Lived off the recent posts section.
Too bright! Eyes hurt!
Looks interesting :o The subforum lists have a few layout issues though it seems.
ill sit on it for a few days.. first impressions is everything is too large and spaced out too much..
I’m getting some pretty bad rendering bugs on Opera, the banner which I assume is supposed to be a the bottom of the page is somewhere near the top, which means I can’t actually read the content of this article (that made me lol). Also, whenever I scroll the background image flickers pretty badly.
Just FYI.
(Also, the submit post button is just a green rectangle, there’s no text.
Looking good, getting there.
wow everything is so big >.O
Very nice I have to say!
Interesting :D
my god this one will take me a while to get used to. awesome though :D
Is it just me or does it not seem to scale well on my screen? It may just be the colours or something. I also zoomed out the page as the text was far too big.
Awesome work, it’s great!
The Files Section is over simplified and way more difficult to use (same as the improved 3FL). There are no way to limit the browse area such as media, patches, clients etc. also there be should in a darker colour for background.
Yes I am the complaining guy =)
Looks great so far but quite disorientating at the moment. May just need some getting used to though :)
Horribly, Horribly, Horribly slow in it’s current form. :-P
I’m sure optimisation is the next step though. :)
I prefer the old layout!
I’ve been getting a few 502 errors.
holy shit, yeah this will take a bit to get used to!
Not bad, its certainly a cleaner look
argh post count back to 0
gunna be busy finding my favourite threads, could be wider!
Otherwise, love colour scheme and layout. I guess I’ll get used to US date format…
Oh come on, surely you could have bought a better template than this. Definitely needs more darkness and width to it.
Against the grain as usual but imho this is a horrible redesign. Everything is so difficult to navigate and read. It feels generic as well, i’ve seen some of these site and forum designs before, about a million times before in fact, and literally the only plus is that news items are easier to read because they’re bigger (yet for some reason aren’t widescreen).
Forums are a mess, I can’t tell what’s stickied (it used to have it’s own section, which was GOOD) or what i’ve already read before because the thread titles look extremely cluttered and the images on the left side are just frankly terrible. Let’s not even get into the discussion of news articles, there’s no room for any discussion here now as you have to go directly to the news article (if it’s no longer on front page that’s a hassle few will go through I think) and you can no longer quote people or anything you used to with a news article discussion.
There’s also other issues like the utterly wasted space on the top, bottom and right side and the non-stop try-hard attempts to be cool from the visual style of the site and things like ‘Ahoy exe3!’ at the top.
Yes i’m negative most of the time but imho this is a HORRIBLE redesign both from my personal opinion as well as the actual functional design of the site. You seem to have outright copied what other websites do without realizing that maybe those formats might not actually be that good in the first place, let alone be good for a community that’s smaller and more personable.
Doesn’t seem to work on a mobile all that well. Is the news section separate from the rest of the forums now? And is tapatalk broken for anyone else? If so… plans to get it working again?
Little too much cell padding and wasted space imo, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it as it seems to be all the rage now. Looks very ipad ish
Why so skinny? Am I using my widescreen monitor the wrong direction?
I do not like this theme honestly, looks much like those regular wannabe game sites that i usually skips. The old one is much unique and neat, easier to read/use, i really prefer the old one that’s all i can say.
I… I need time to process this…
As per what nanorazor said, the flat layout of the file listings seriously messes up the ability to sort through searches. Also the descriptions for the files are missing. Hopefully it’s just due to the new site being in its infancy.
Way too thin, needs to get wider.
Hmmm, it does seem like a lot of wasted space… also, agreeing with Nanorazor, unless I’m missing something, there’s a lot missing from the file section, specifically, the ability to sort all the full client files by date to find the latest f2p releases etc.
On the other hand, highlighting in green? Kinda cool.
Also, I’m not a pirate.
This kind of layout looks good for news and browsing, but feels pretty bad for forum use tbh.
i have no idea whats going on
who are you people
Seems a little sluggish to me but that’s more than likely just because it’s brand spanking new. Otherwise, it looks… new. And shiny.
Huge fan, look forward to the inevitable tweaks and features.
The file and game server sections are still works in progress, and we welcome all comments on how we can improve them!
As for the overall layout, our new site offers us a lot more flexibility than the old one, and we hope you’ll come to see over the coming days that it’s also a lot more readable and easier to use.
Thanks for the feedback and support, we are listening! And we are working on the slowness of the site as well. No plan survives the battle, as they say.
congrats with the merger. hi you fellow comrades who ive seen before, you new lot – nice to meetcha.
Not sure if i like the change. I cant quickly link to the most recent topics in forums from the front page. I want to be able to change the skin to a darker one too. Late night browsing on the Random videos forum kills my eyes with the bright background.
woah, shiny
If the file and game server sections are still works in progress, why is the site going live right now? Wouldn’t it make sense to stick with the fully functional existing site until everything was ready? It’s not like the previous site was broken and needed something rushed out to replace it.
@ TIM COLWILL
“As for the overall layout, our new site offers us a lot more flexibility than the old one”
For us or for you? I can see this as an overall upgrade on your end and for the news feed but you’ve basically broken the ease of forum usage and actual article discussion as i’ve said is dead, right now the inability to quote you just then was painful. But this here is the issue, this website is forums first, news feed second, always has been, always should be. News and articles are great but you’re going to kill the site if you put it above the community as this redesign at first look is doing. This comments section is as impersonable as it can get, designed just for a couple random one off comments and no actual discussion.
I like your old stuff better than your new stuff
It’s gonna take a while…
Posts constrained to less than a third of the width of my screen – I guess I can cater for my poor old failing eyes and increase the font size…. Nah – still not good
Please – allow the posts to span a greater width for those who want it
Also one of the things that I loved the most when I stopped watching Good Game and left their forums was that I could EDIT MY MESSAGES. Far out, such a massive step backwards what were you thinking?
As for my edit I was gonna just comment on how countless other sites already do this, why be just like them?
wow, very spiffy, a bit on the thin side though, my 23″ screen makes the page look tiny as.
its a bit slow to post too, bit a lag going on.
and we can’t edit posts anymore, dang.
FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!
The main article column is like 60 pixels wide….. fine for iStupid phone users but….. I HAVE 1080 screen! Wake up to 2012!!!!!!1111222222
IMO this is the same as the 3FL server (http://www.3fl.net.au/). Is going to take a while, but something I LOVED about the old G.O.N is the file browser. You need to list most popular and separate the files again. Game Clients, Videos, Patches etc.. Also the Browser page is broken.
I was going to head into the Forum where the entire community was built and is maintained to comment on the news, quote and discuss with others..
o wai…..
I have to agree with everything that exe3 has said. Even though the new look is great (apart from the teeny tiny use of the screen real estate), feature wise this change just feels like such a big step backwards.
Also why is my name (and everyone else’s) all in caps?
Also i keep lagging and getting bad gateway, took me 3 tries to post this.
I keep getting intermittent errors.
“502 Bad Gateway nginx”
Why does the GON Lounge have wide screen and edit, but this one doesn’t?
What the…
whoa, this now looks like the a ‘gaming site’
hmmmm, would be nice to have an option for ‘lite’ theme … with less flash, but that’s just me being picky.
ok i dont like this part of the new changes.. :( howcome the news section isn’t part of the actual forums?
Can we still access the old format some how? I don’t like change! :)
When you are logged in you can get to your WordPress profile page (games.on.net/wp-admin), where you can change a few things.
Interestingly the bellow quoted text is seen at the top of the page, but if you try to go to the “Options Page” it says I do not have permissions.
“DB Cache Reloaded Info: caching is not enabled. Please go to the Options Page to enable it.”
It looks like the WP Cache is turned off… this could explain the performance issues once a bit of load started to hit the site.
Stylistically awesome! Very nice look & feel.
A few issues:
– Bad gateway errors and non-responsiveness intermittently. (Just mentioning it.)
– Not enough/any content “above the fold” on the homepage (and I have ads blocked!)
– Too narrow for most [gamer] screens these days. I have to zoom in and then there’s even less content on the page.
Wow this is cool
The revengous approves.
This thread column thickness thingy is like 1/10th of my entire screen real estate in Eyefinity.
Most people have Widescreens these days and not 4:3 aspect ratios, so why not take advantage of that? :P
Hey Dwek
You caught us while we were switching over the cache plugin :)
As you might have guessed, we’ve just enabled this plugin and disabled the other one.
I can’t update my Website details in the WP profile editor, but I can add Biographical Info.
Bit strange.
I love the design, but not a huge fan of the layout. Particularly the column next to this main one. Makes the main/article column feel much too narrow (and doesn’t particularly serve much purpose..)
Adding a PM area to the WP profile area would be great…
Good stuff :)
Incidentally, what governs the avatar for the comment section here?
Love it
oh wait, yeah should’ve figured out it was using GV for the avatar… let’s see where was my account for GV.
oddd… why isn’t it showing on my avatar
oh whopse… my bad
I like the look, and I love the feel, of my wifes hairy legs…. oh wait…
I’m with the people that dislike the “new” look. It has nothing to do with deviating away from the original page, and the theory that “people hate change”. I was all for a change in theme. But this….it looks like barely modified version of the standard WordPress theme.
As previously said, it is more difficult to see new files. In the original version, the latest files were right there in the side bar…you didn’t even have to navigate away from the main page.
I mean the feel of your avatar.
So to everyone complaining about the lack of edits, I believe that is due to this being a comment board rather than the actual forums.
And to the chap saying he can’t find the thing that created the community… try the word you just used.. community, not forum…
I forget what my gravatar on this email account is. Wonder what will happen…
The site is a lot quicker now.
Hairy legs… ???
…Oh, so that’s why it looks like a WordPress theme. It is. View the page source.
Wow this is awful
Tonight Aussie Gamers witness the death of “Games On Net” as we know and love, and the rise of “Games On iiNet”.
LOVE the new look. Very slick, gorgeous.
So much scrolling. Need comment pages!
First!
…
Aww :(
ugliest website ever. why are all the new stories using less than half the width of my 24 inch monitor. why are web pages still made to suit a 17 inch monitor in the year 2012… look at all the wasted space >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
and instead you make articles use less space than a postage stamp GG @webfail
The more I look at it the more I see it as just the 3FL site re-badged.
Seriously guys, it’s a work in progress, and it’s the first major upgrade in a very, very long time.
iinet, ruining game community sites since 2012. Internode colours obviously not allowed anymore.
But seriously, its not an improvement layout wise, i feel like i have to scroll through to find news on the main page like a chore and articles with no link to the forums..
File list is terrible
Forum layout is bad
I went to this link whilst clicking around.
It seems to be the same site.
http://new.games.on.net/forums
People complaining about width:
This is standard.
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com
http://www.vg247.com
http://www.destructoid.com/
Etc.
The width is due to the 960px grid of nearly every WordPress (and yes, it is WordPress) theme out there. With modern themes, the divs of the page should rearrange on a mobile platform, such as your cell phone, and theoretically be more pleasing to view. It is pointless at the moment, because it’s not actually working. Click your button to take it out of full-screen mode and try to resize the width of the page. If it were working correctly, the contents of the side-bar would rearrange to the bottom of the page, which means the theme is currently set to 960px minimum/static width somewhere in the CSS.
nice
wewt!
My username looks broken, but is fine in the forum page. Which was a bit difficult to find to be honest. Game Servers page link seems to be broken at the moment as well. Also why the move to the very simply file search for videos and games files?
But otherwise, looks ok.
why so skinny
I don’t mind the new design. The old games.on.net looked like the Realtek website.
At first i was like, yeah! Now im like, nar. Bring back recent posts and fix the files section.
Looking great, i appreciate the large font, my eyes thankyou :)
Sure there’s a few little probs to iron out but that’s normal.
also where is my avatar?
this new layout would suit the console crowd, overly simplistic offering the users no real control of what the fuck is going on
@ James Pinnell
“Seriously guys, it’s a work in progress, and it’s the first major upgrade in a very, very long time.”
And yet you guys felt the need to release it before it was ready, huh…
oh wow this is awesome! i think it will take me a while to get used to the new format but apart from that, good work!
it blows
@EXE3
Every website is a work in progress – Tim and the dev team are reading every single comment and will obviously work to refine some of the things that can be changed without spoiling the dynamic of the site, especially any errors or missing information. Obviously, this doesn’t suit everyone’s tastes, especially when the original site had become part of the community and everyone was used to it.
The width is commonly questioned but is now the standard for the large majority of gaming sites, such as the ones I listed above. It allows for modern web advertising standards (unfortunately, content isn’t free) or other site based skins for whatever reason or another. Not everyone is a fan, granted, but GON had to grow up and catch up to stay relevant in a very large and competitive marketplace for gaming content.
In regards to the forum integration, I’d have to let Tim comment on that front since I know very little about it – I’m just a staff writer after all – so pretending I do wouldn’t really solve your queries.
Like Tim mentioned above – there are more features to be activated, more content to be added and so forth over the next few days, so stay tuned.
@ James Pinnell
*looks at gamespot*
Maybe it isn’t actually wider but it sure does LOOK a lot wider, particularly for this section and that’s the main thing (or was classic GON also wider and i’m thinking more of that when I think this site is tiny?).
I’m also disappointed that you’re aiming to compete with proper gaming websites, this is a community website first and foremost with the bonus of news features. You’re going to kill this website and community if you push it in the news direction at the expense of the community to which I feel this new website is doing.
Again, this change only benefits you guys and the news. Forums that once were great are now impossible to navigate because of absolutely no colour creating a blinding mess of threads and posts (I can’t tell when one post ends and another starts plus my eyes legitimately hurt looking at the site now) and just a very dull and uninspired graphical change (old GON was warm and inviting, this one is cold and impersonal).
I have no doubt that the forums will be worked on. I think you might be overly pessimistic, it’s still the first launch day. Have faith.
@EXE3
There is no aiming to compete with “proper” gaming websites. We already do.
You are looking at one of the largest and most significant gaming websites along with the largest game server farm in Australia. I’ve mentioned this quite a few times in the past.
I’m more then happy to agree to disagree with you on this one. If only our own interests where at play, please elaborate on how continuing to support the Australian gaming community, servers and industry is a negative.
Everyone wins :)
I don’t understand your question, it implies you’re furthering all sides but from what i’ve experienced tonight the new site harms the community side for reasons i’ve already listed, furthers your industry side and doesn’t do much for the server side.
And in terms of competing I don’t think in terms of countries, I think in terms of just the internet.
@ James Pinnell
I’m overly depressed at the situation as I love and am passionate about GON and I see this from my actual experience today as almost a death knell for the site and a loss of its ways. I hope you’re right about the forums being worked on as to get them in working order they will need A LOT of work, work that honestly shouldn’t be needed given the old ones were great.
But that doesn’t change the fact that discussions in news articles are dead, you won’t get any real discussion in this format, I can guarantee it.
New theme looks slick, however…i have to say, there’s a heap of wasted space.
To be honest, i preferred the old website, felt more like ‘home’, and unique.
It’s like when facebook gets changed, everyone whinges until they realise it makes no difference. So we’ll get over it, and most likely, keep visiting the site regularly.
also, NO DROP DOWN MENUS? D: so, so useful. Please consider adding this functionality :)
@EXE3
In terms of the Internet, think about who this site’s primary Audience is.
People, that live in Australia, enjoy broadband, unmetered data, and GAMES! :D
Quite a few do have the internet! Our target audience is Australians, I know…we should probably rebrand the site with an Aussie flag to make it more apparent but we do our best to ensure that our local staff and writers continue to deliver content that is relevant to us!
It’s unfortunate to hear that you are depressed by the changes :(
I can only hope that one day when you need the support from us to further your work within the games industry we can assist, it could be a mod or your first retail release :) – We will be here, as will our community to stand by your side.
Ahhhh Exe, I’m eternally surprised by your ability to type while your head is up your bum :D
I think the preview section on the right is a little too wide and the article section a little too thin. The test is also too big.
On the homepage the articles with small images look really good, however the ones with the large images or videos take up way too much space, if the images could be resized on the news homepage I think it would be much easier to navigate and look alot better.
These few small issues make the new layout rank lower than the old for me, but with a little tweaking I think it could be excellent.
I do also miss being able to search a game and find all the files for that game in their own categories, it just seemed to work easier.
Great start though.
So what if the width is standard? Do we have to be standard do we.
Derp.
love the new look
Hate the new news comment system.
The site is really growing on me, at first I wasn’t sure if I liked it, but the more I use the new site, the more I come to like the look.
Great effort by our guys getting it together!
P.S….NEW EMOTICONS PLEASE?!?!? http://www.en.kolobok.us/
wheres the PC section?
wheres the latest demo category plz?
Lets burn this with fire and peel back to the old one. I have soooo much whitespace on my screen it’s burning my eyes out.
I don’t love it, don’t hate it yet. I’ve only had a chance to look a it on my IPad. A few things annoy me like the file library and issues with the forums like the theme, stickies hard to identify etc, but these have already been mentioned a thousand times.
Still love gon, just going to give it a few weeks and see how things improve.
It’s okay Ash, I’m sure your website/forum you were going on about will have absolutely 0 white space on it, and be 100% perfect….. Remind me how that went again? Obviously not well in that you continue to troll here ;)
Looks great, I agree with the posts about it not scaling for screen width but I guess you are keeping the sides free for adds.
Also I clicked on my name up the top but its not a link to my settings (avatar etc.), can you fix this pls.
Looks great!
I have since had multiple orgasms, and you guys have all been standing nearby the whole time.
Face it Toby, you get multiple orgasms when a slight breeze brushes past you.
It’s hot.
First impressions: Cool.
But delving in a bit deeper I see it’s a tad unfinished still. For example, the Files section lacks any categorising, which I’m sure it will soon.
In the comment section here (but not the forum, the forum seems to be fine so far), I can’t find out how to quote someone and the info displayed next to people’s posts has been mostly removed.
That’s just so far after being on the site for less than 5 minutes so I’ll say good job so far and look forward to it progressing.
I can’t say I hate the new look but I do have a few things that I kinda dislike.
Things I don’t really like.
The games.on.net banner looks too big.
You can see seams on the games.on.net banner background
The menu bar looks too big (I don’t really like the position it is in either.)
The bright background
The huge latest news thing (the slideshow is kinda annoying, but that’s probably just me)
Huge section for each news items, they take up over half the page each.
The side section is too big and makes the news section look cramped
The side sections “recent features” is (currently) the same as the latest news thing on top of the news section.
Latest forums post is section is gone.
The old forums style comments section seemed better.
Also, no quick formatting buttons.
You said it’s a work in progress, so I look forward to see how it’s improved. Who knows, maybe it’ll grow on me.
Looking schmick.
This slight breeze of a website really is fabulous, I must reiterate. The new call to action will be great for social media’ing, too (we all like to have fun on Twitter! Come join!). I would like to see our unofficial mascot Casio front and centre, though.
Not sure if you guys have fixed the Opera rendering bugs I noted last night as I’m using Chrome at work (renders fine), but I’m going to have to agree with the width complaint. I don’t really care what other sites are doing, there should still be an option of having a widescreen format, even if it’s just something like 1.5x the width of the current style.
Catering to the iPad is fine, but you can do that with the useragent, there’s no need to force everyone (especially those of us with 1080p monitors/HDTVs) to squint and waste half our screen real estate just to visit this site.
And the advertising excuse, please. There’s plenty of ways to incorporate ads into a widescreen site, don’t pretend you have to go for the standard width to keep the money rolling in.
@ darkmellie
The same goes to you. Is that really the kind of response you give to anyone who has a differing opinion to yourself or who doesn’t think that GON can do no wrong? If you have something else to say don’t bother saying it here, I’m sick of the chore of finding posts in this thing and trying to reply when it’s been designed to not have discussions, i’ll be in the General Discussion thread.
o.0 it all got prettified!
It’s really the type of comment someone gives when they don’t actually have anything to add to a discussion, let alone any type of legitimate counter point.
(hohoho, there’s that lack of edit button showing its pros again :/ )
I’m super impressed. Well done Cas and folks.. :)
How do i see comments? they’re not showing up for me. Pm please.
RSS feed is not working.
Wait, 147 comments and I can’t see them. What gives? <_<
hey all old comrades, nice to see ya online.
you new lot – howdy!
and why cant i see the comments without first putting in a comment?
Looks good. Functionally I’m not sure yet, might just be getting used to.
Functionally it’s rather poor, let’s be honest here…
but give it a few days first and see how it goes once they iron out the potential problems and get the features online…
if after all that the site is still missing functionality, then we will have a real cause of concern.
as a note:
Aside of the file list being utterly useless at the moment compared to the compact and far more practical list of the old style, the forum and post tracker for the user profile is also using a very poor theme layout, in particular it has no distinguishing mark between the different status of threat, be it read, no new post, new post added etc… in terms of color scheme.
The icons used for them are ALL white with barely recognizable design forcing the user to scan them one by one and try to recognize the icon, whereas a better style would be to distinguish each of the state icon with different color and style to make it easier for ppl to scan through the list and pick up what changes occurred quickly.
Yeah don’t like this layout…
the news comments are pretty crap, whats with the width, cant even reply to someone?
^ this and the fact that I can’t quote people exemplifies it.
News comments section is horrid would love to get forum style comments back.
it’s even whiter than before which is not a good thing.
long story short I hope the functionality at-least returns
Where is the latest threads bit? How do i know whats active so i can troll?
it just need to be an fraction wider the “news” part only takes up 1/4 of my screen
Its alright, reminds me a bit of IGN (but easier to use). I agree it should be a little bit wider, but still a decent new design, I’m sure I’ll get used to it in the future.
I reckon it looks sh*t myself. Why is everything so dang tall now? Use more bl**dy screen real estate sideways. Looks like it was designed from a smartphone.
Hmm yeah. news items ‘comments’ really does kill the discussion. if it was forum style it would be fine, as each post has more individuality (avatars are bigger, etc).
I came to the GON website (as opposed always just playing on the servers) a little over a year ago and found the game news page full of active users in interesting discussion all over the news posts and I LOVED that. I take part in it, but as little facebook comments I kind of feel like my favorite thing about this website has gone.
Just that and the ‘too thin’ and the ‘too white’.
Everything else I’ve seen so far is cool.
To me the design is not really a whole lot different that how it was before at least in terms of layout. As long as I can remember the site has not taken up the full width on a widescreen monitor. The left column may be slightly larger than it was but it is not too bad.
I understand that as Internode is part of iinet now that there should be advertising for it on here but I would hope it would not lose the Internode parts too as that is the true roots of this website.
The one thing that puzzles me is the linking and listing of Adam Internet on here. As far as I can tell they are still very much independent of the iinet group (I could be wrong) and they have been fierce competitors to Internode in the South Australian market often not seeing eye to eye.
I like the site so far, will be good to see how it can be improved :)
well GoN your community has spoken, most like the new “LOOK” but seems most hate the functionality. you have taken a giant leap backwards using such a crap interface and the forums. O M G way to trash the forums they look disgusting, hard to navigate and the fonts YUK.
really who made this decision a woman?
also why white? most people have BIG BRIGHT LCDS and we open up a BIG BRIGHT WEBPAGE, like looking into the sun whiule trying to read tiny black writing, when does LOGIC kick in and suggest that looking into such a bright WEBPAGE, WHITE is bad for your eyes and maybe using a DARKER background with WHITE writing is MUCH easier on the eyes than staring into the sun……logic is not most peoples strong point huh
oh way to go , FAIL we cant edit comments. wth? such FAIL there . FIX it so we can edit our own comments so i dont have to make chain posts./……. gee theres some logic for ya
older comments , newer comments, how about a page number wow. serioously seems you have TRASHED this website , wth bring back the old site asap.
Don’t like the way comments are layed out, rather it was like it was, ie a forum page. The downloads section layout is terrible compared to before. Took me several attempts at logging in before I could stay logged in. Can’t edit comments. Honestly, why? Hoping it will grow on me like the old design eventually did but not liking the new site right now.
On a second viewing of this website it seems very buggy still and does seem to miss a lot of what was good about the old version. It seems not all comments are viewable at least to the general public unless they are logged in. Also the comments putting the newest on the first page but starting at the bottom does not make much seance to me and certainly makes it a whole lot harder to follow the discussion. The forum style was much better at achieving this.
It seems the servers page is still not up which if I had made the site would not put the link live until it was as directing to a dead link is not great. The file browsing is a HUGE step backwards from the old website while we do have a list of the most recently added we have lost the ability to sort by alphabetical game. It does seem all associated files with a game are still linked but it is a lot harder to navigate too without doing a search.
It looks like the amount of stories per page has been reduced too so you only get about 1 days worth at any one time which to me is also bad as I often only drop in every 2 or 3 days and I could normally still see all the stories I had missed still on the front page to view.
Lastly I can’t seem to find how to change any of my account setting.
I think it would have been better for you to create a Beta.Games.On.Net first and run that in parallel before this went live making sure everything was working and getting our feedback. It just seems we have lost too much to gain the extra users.
This is what happens when the lil companies merge… shit all goes pear. :(

Ahhhh Exe, I’m eternally surprised by your ability to type while your head is up your bum :D
If his head was up his arse he would be seeing something very similar to this website, even if he was just looking in from the outside it would look much the same.
earlygrayce,
The width of this website leaves over a quarter of my screens realestate bare and me scrolling like a man posessed to read all of the comments.
1920px is the standard sideways resolution this millenia, please come back to the future.
