sh0v0r: I had that exact issue and all I had to do was pop it off then put it back on. They come off really easy just stick a butter knife under it and lift give it a blow then put it back on. I’ve not had any problems since and I’ve used mine for over 12 months and do a lot of programming on it so its has a fair amount of use.

Agree about the Onza they are a big let down, I love the face buttons on them.

Thank you sh0v0r ! I'll get a knife and try it tomorrow! hopefully it works! :)

Agreed, I owned 3 onza's because I waited a year for them and was so excited... that after the second one failed I just had to try again ! I like the feel and the buttons, but damn the thing is cheap and super easy to break! So disappointed!

Great piece, and I agree with your thoughts on the BlackWidow. I've had mine for just under a year now, and it's not missed a beat. Been reliable, and mechanical keys have been a revelation. It just makes typing on the membrane boards at work feel... mushy. It's got all the media/volume keys I want, can disable the Windows key on command, and it sells for under $100 on occasion. I'd heartily recommend the standard BlackWidow.

Alex Walker:
Worth noting that the BlackWidow and it’s Ultimate cousin both use Cherry MX Blue switches, which require more actuation force than their Brown or Red cousins, of which the latter is most popular among gamers. (The Steelseries keyboards use MX Black switches, although they have a new model coming out that uses Red switches.)

The BlackWidow Stealth line uses Brown switches, and is much easier to type on.

Thanks for the heads up Alex :)

Just to warn you all, I am the biggest Razer fan out there, I LOVE Razer gear and used to buy it all the time... But I've had a lot of time and experience with there equipment, and there's 2 things I would NEVER recommend you buy, and one thing I highly would -

NEVER buy the Onza controller, I've owned 3, And every one of them has had trigger sensitivity problems, especially in racing games, it turns into just a button, and not a pressure sensitive lever... It's an absolute disgrace, they break SUPER easily, and feel like they're made of 1 cent plastic.

NEVER buy there mechanical keyboards "the one shown in the picture" I own that one now, and 3 of my friends all ownn the same keyboard, And they've ALL had key problems within the first 6 months of owning it... Mine double hits N a lot, One of my mates his e he needs to press harder to activate, not sure on the third friend, he's just unhappy with the keyboard itself. It's taken me 5 minutes to type this because I need to constantly remove the double N's I keep accidentally doing.

I DO RECOMMENND - Any mouse, Razer are brilliant with mice, The one I own now "Razer DeathAdder 3500" Is just perfect.... Such a nice feel.

So all in all, By all means waste your money on awesome looking gear from Razer, Just remember just because they're popular doesn't mean they're cheap crap.... They DO break, and a lot of the stuff they produce IS problematic...

I look after my gear very well, and half the time don't even use it that much anymore, But in the last 8 times I've ownned razer gear, 7 of those things have broken or had problems, The only things I've never had a problem with from Razer are there mice.

P.S. There headsets are over priced and super shitty quality for there price, Buy a pair of proper headphones for that value and you'll be much better off.

Aesthetics are extraordinarily subjective, but most people I asked (both techy and not) thought they looked good - the SWTOR keyboard especially was a wow factor.

Almost everyone loved the BlackWidow. But I agree with sh0v0r that the glossy finish attracts dust and finger grease far too easily. A matte finish would have been a better choice for all models since it really is a utility keyboard..

Also, Cheers for the SWTOR keyboard review, and the thoughts on the BWU blue back lighting…. it was a BWU right? bit hard to distinguish if it was a BWU or just a BW in the article…

<3 razer, and <3 you guys :)

The keyboard reviewed was a BlackWidow Ultimate - I'll update the review to make it more clear :)

Thanks for the kudos, this was one of the longest and most involved articles I've ever written!

sh0v0r: Goliath Mouse pad, OK yes I spent $70 on a mouse pad, its nice but it gets dirty really easy and it is not as smooth as other surfaces. I do regret this purchase.

Wow, of all the Razer gear, i think the Goliathus is one of the most respected/used... i bought the huge one as a joke for a mate, and despite the fact its the size of his desk, he loves it, i love it, and everyone who uses it is surprised by it, its a control, i rock a speed, but man, for a mouse matt.... hot DAMN

think i might have to get a ME3 or BF3 BWU, red an orange b4 blu imo. selectable colours like a g110 would be nice tho...

Also, Cheers for the SWTOR keyboard review, and the thoughts on the BWU blue back lighting…. it was a BWU right? bit hard to distinguish if it was a BWU or just a BW in the article…

think i might have to get a ME3 or BF3 BWU, red an orange b4 blu imo. selectable colours like a g110 would be nice tho…

<3 razer, and <3 you guys :)

I have been generally happy with my Razer gear except for a few things.

The Black Widow Ultimate is an amazing keyboard I love it to death, general typing is a real pleasure and I found it has improved my typing accuracy. I'm a programmer and this is my weapon of choice. I did have one key start to fail, I popped it off and then put it back on and it works fine now, must have got some dirt under it. The real problem with this keyboard is the glossy finish, it is a grease and dirt magnet and I am for ever wiping it down. I have considered buying a Stealth version which has the matte finish as a replacement.

Mamba Mouse, battery life is terrible so much so that I stopped using it wirelessly and just leave it plugged in all the time, the glue on the rubber on the right hand side came off, indicating questionable QA standards.

Onza 360 Tournament controller, this was the biggest let down, some of the inputs started to fail after very little usage. Otherwise a great controller with poor build standards.

Goliath Mouse pad, OK yes I spent $70 on a mouse pad, its nice but it gets dirty really easy and it is not as smooth as other surfaces. I do regret this purchase.

Carcharias Headphones, I've been very happy with these they have great sound and so far after 2 years no problems.

These are unbelievably ugly imo, I have no idea how you guys can say they look good.

Still think the deathadder looks better than any of these. Just bought myself a black edition, nice and understated without all the gimmicky buttons, LEDs or fully sick "paint job".

And razer keyboards.... don't even get me started.

Then again, to each their own..

I have been considering upgrading my current Razer Naga MMO molten edition just for the changeable part that lets me make my mouse a bit wider. I must say the Naga has been one of my best peripheral purchases. The software is good most of the time however everytime the software starts up my mouse movement lags for 20 seconds. The cloud upload so far has worked fine and after formatting earlier this year I was able to get all my key bindings quickly so that saved alot of time (esp for arma 2 in which I had about 6 buttons binded to my numbers)

Bah... BlackWidow. You should try a real mechanical keyboard some time (the BlackWidows have a reputation for problems). I have a Das Model S Silent, the finest keyboard money can buy. It's the best PC peripheral I've ever owned by a mile.

I have a Razer Deathadder mouse which I like a lot (not a MMPPPOORRGer so don't need 90 buttons on my mice).

Synapse is not a part of my Razer setup. I suggest downloading the drivers and setting up the traditional way.
I love the idea of cloud support for the profiles but i don't think i would ever give up my G9/G19 combo because it just works perfect for me. Hopefully Logitech will update and add cloud support. Most things will probably have cloud support eventually.

I used to use a Logitech mouse and the Logitech G19 keyboard, but changed over to the Naga and the Blackwidow (although I got the Blackwidow model that doesn't have back lighting) after changing I haven't had any problems like you would with the Logitech products, and I 100% agree with synapse over Logitech's horrible software set-up, the *clicking* from the keyboard is fun to be honest, some of the people I know just like to play around typing rather then playing anything when they are using my pc. But in all the naga is perfect, and once you get used to the buttons on the side they really do help out a lot (especially in MMO's)
