New Ultima RPG announced by EA and BioWare

Ultima Forever: Quest for the Avatar

Today, BioWare and EA have announced a new addition to the Ultima saga, the classic RPGs of yesteryear. Ultima Forever: Quest for the Avatar will be available on the PC and the iPad later in the year, and will combine the action RPG gameplay of the previous titles, with the epic storytelling BioWare is known for. Not much else is known about Ultima Forever at this point, except that it will have full integrated and cross-platform play, as well as being able to play alone or in some sort of co-operative mode. Head over to the official website to sign up for the beta and be one of the first to see what it’s all about. The press releases promise a trailer as well, but it doesn’t seem to be up yet – we’ll keep you posted.

Let us hope the game is better than the name it has been given…

Bioware… No thanks.

They aren’t good anymore.

Well they haven’t had a good ultima game since 7 part 2.

Will be really odd to have it without richard garriot though.

It might actually be better then with Garriot on the job.

I’d rather Just have HD versions of Black Gate and Serpent Isle.

Oh god not another game by Bioware that is overshadowed by EA, I’m a bit put off already.

Plus it has a terrible name, sounds like a cheap F2P franchise name.

countjeffrey,

It is a F2P game. :P

slazza,

Ah well, that explains a lot.

EA just digs up any grave these days to see what they can find…

Ill wait for a proper single player game and not even bother with this cruddy F2P game.

Yeah I don’t think so. There could be possibilities but with Bioware at the helm my expectations are very low. A shame, Bioware used to be rather good…

If the Original Bioware (because Now there multiple teams) could reboot or continue the Star wars the knights the old republic that would be good. Bioware was never good at making MMOs.
