The beta for the next Skyrim patch (1.7) is up on Steam today for you to grab. It doesn’t seem super game-changing, unless you’re having issues playing the game, in which case it’ll hopefully fix those up for you. Crash bugs related to the new water shaders and some general stability issues have all been fixed up. The update will be coming to the XBox 360 and PS3 as well, with an unspecified release date.
The patch may mean more to console players, as there are a few Kinect issues being fixed up in there as well, but mostly to the PS3 players, who will simultaneously be getting patch 1.7 and the previous 1.6 which introduced mounted combat and all those other goodies.

Still waiting for Dawnguard on PC, maybe this is going to head off some issues with it though.
