Crazy man builds mech cockpit simulator in his house, is awesome

Well, this man’s crazy. Crazy awesome! He’s built a simulated cockpit for the upcoming release of MechWarrior Online, and he has spared no expense, including surround sound and three 28 inch monitors. I have to admit, I haven’t watched all of this 9-minute video, doing so would probably encourage the Editor-in-Chief in a few home modifications of his own. But in the video the creator will walk you through how he built it and why, and for further detail you can check out the MechWarrior Online forum post where he made the big reveal.

Ahah love the Windows login sound.

Pfft, that’s just some nice board-work, very little to get excited about. This guy, however, this guy WINS.

(can’t link youtube from work).

I like the idea with the chair.

All in all it’s pretty nice, but I’ve seen better ones.

All that work and he hasn’t bothered to change the default background logon picture. Cmon man. Full measure.

Aside from that, awesome. He’s not going to any LANs anytime soon with that thing though.

Nice. A man closet is about as much as most of us can afford:)

i felt dirty clicking that link….

I clicked it, but then it was too late! TOO LATE!!

Eww wtf is this bing stuff? the sites weird

Nice effort, a man in his mech closet.

The only person he has to impress with it is himself so good on him. If it works and he enjoys it then it has achieved it’s purpose.

It’s far better than the cardboard boxes I painted silver and the colander I have attached a chin strap to for my mech setup.

Indeed. It’s impressive for an amateur to plan out something like this and then see it through to fruition. I’m not sure I’d like to play games in a closet but if closet gaming is your thing then this is rather cool. :P

Jeez guys, it’s not a closet, it’s a mechwarrior cockpit!!

I say fantastic job and for all the negative Nancy’s I bet they would want some similar themselves.

Sure it looks a little plain in some parts but compared to what most of us could do, on a tiny budget it looks fantastic!

Wow.. he should be proud.

It’s not a mechwarrior cockpit, it’s a simulated mechwarrior cockpit!! :P

And I am impressed, it looks like he’s put of time and effort into it, and it looks great. Just not my idea of a place to play games is all…little too confined. I’d never make a mech pilot I guess…

That is he’s put a lot of time and effort into it. Which is what I’d put in that post if I could frakkin’ go back and edit it! >:(

Looks awesome to me!
