“We’re sorry that we offended people – that was truly not the intention of the trailer”, said Hitman Absolution game director Tore Blystad to IGN. “It really came as a big surprise to us how it all went down,” Blystad said, referring to speculation that the trailer was deliberately controversial to create such a reaction. “It was never the intention to provoke people with it.” The trailer is reportedly based off a level in the game called ‘Attack of the Saints’, which features the same latex-wearing nun assassins seen in the trailer.
